Has anyone else noticed that AT&T Samsung phones lose signal strength just by using LTE?

I noticed this when the LTE was first activated so after getting tired of little to no signal, I went into the secret menu and switched off the LTE and went back to HSPDA and now have 3-5 bars all the time in the same locations. Internet speed has not affected much. Signal strength is -102 dbm on LTE but it is -79 dbm on HSPDA at the same location. The tower is 1.2 miles away and supports both LTE and 3G and HSPDA.
