Cant get a compass to work on new tablet

I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Model SM-T387V for Christmas and I love it. But I have been trying for a good part of today to find a GPS/Compass app that works, but none do. Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be changed or does this tablet not have any GPS or Compass capability?
