How do I play non-streaming music?

I have a very large CD collection. I would like to put some of the music that I own onto my phone and play it. I did this with my last phone. However, I can't find any information on how to go about doing this with my new phone. My phone's operating system is android 8.1.0. I would greatly appreciate some instructions.
