How do iknow when mohie is off and fully charged?

The Mophie rechargeable battery case has only worked once to recharge my Samsung galaxy s7. I was told to turn mophie off after it charges my phone back up? But how do I tell if its off. Also,
how do I know it recharged back up when I do plug in my phone at night?
