Badge Count Gone When Notification Gone
As of Android 8.0, why is there no option to keep my badge icons when a notification is gone?
Example:
1) I receive an email or text from someone
2) A badge count appears
3) I swipe to remove the notification
4) The badge count is gone
This is highly inconvenient for when I'm unable to read emails right away.

Why did a picture of a frog get randomly downloaded onto my phone?
Ok so earlier today I noticed this candid shot of a frog jumping was somehow saved onto my phone, I had never seen this frog picture in my life, and then later in the day like just a little bit ago I went to check if it was still there and the thumbnail was still the frog picture but the actual photo changed to a sunset on the beach ??????? How to connect Android device to WiFi camera + Arduino using Android Studio
Hello Everyone,
I have an OnReal Wifi camera which emits its own wifi an android can connect to. Below is a link to the specific camera:

Now, overall, the ultimate goal is:
1. To wirelessly connect Android device to the camera (using its wifi) {Android Studio}
2. To wirelessly connect to Arduino microcontroller using BLE (the HC-05) module {Android Studio}
- The Arduino microcontroller will be hooked up to an Arduino ultrasonic sensor.
3. Click the video button on the camera to begin video {Physically}
4. Make the pre-connected Android device receive the video stream from the camera {Android Studio}
5. Make the pre-connected Android device receive (Serial?) input from the Arduino microcontroller {Android Studio}
6.1. If the distance is greater than 'x' cm (as received from the Arduino), then save the live frame - preferably to the cloud (Firebase?) - at that instant from camera's video stream {Android Studio}
6.2. Else if the distance is less than 'x' cm (as received from the Arduino), then [nothing new happens; inputs are still continued to be received {Android Studio}
7. (At some point), click the video button on the camera to stop video {Physically}
8. Now, the Android device has sent a number of images to the cloud (Firebase?) {Android Studio}
9. Android device pulls those images from the cloud and calls Image Recognition API - preferably requiring no internet (although MS API would be fine) {Android Studio}

My phone is stuck on "downloading do not turn off target."
Since morning I've been having a problem with my phone, it kept saying "unfortunately YouTube has stopped" etc... all my apps kept stopping. So i switched off my phone, even removed the battery. It would come on but then freeze. So i turned off my phone again, removed the battery... etc i tried a lot of things. Then it stayed on the screen logo. wouldn't even come on. I just tried the volume button, home button and power button. Now it's on "downloading do not turn off target." ugh this is annoying -_- i just want my phone back on.

Note 4 is randomly pausing music
My Note 4 has recently started pausing music on it's own. This happens when on speaker and headphones. When I open the screen, the song shows that it is on pause. I hit the arrow and it starts playing again. This happens with my saved music and when using Spotify or other streaming service.

how to block device maintence notifications s7
so ive had to do a factory reset after my phone got caught in a bootloop and now i have the constant notification to restart my phone from the device security due to unauthorised actions. How do I get Google drive to do any back ups on my week old S9+?
I posted this in the Oreo forum but realized it would go better here...
So I have an s9+ on Verizon. I know Verizon screws us with disabling Samsung cloud backups in the hope you will over pay for their cloud, so I looked at Google drive.
I pay for the 100gb plan and set everything up in the app to back up my phone. However, Google Drive just won't back anything up except photos/videos(which is being done by Google Photos). It tells me my phone isn't backed up. I have "Back up my data" turned on and in the "Google Account" settings, I have "Back up to Google Drive" turned on but all categories except photos/videos like App data, call history and so on all always say "Waiting to Backup" and never actually does.
My phone is on wifi and has sat idle charging overnight for 4 days but nothing changes and no back ups. I have no idea how to get this phone backed up without using the Verizon junk.
I'm just getting back into Android(had a Note 4, before going to an iphone) so I'm a bit rusty.

Why won't my Samsung GT-N5100 tablet connect with any other devices?
I have not used this tablet much since I got it, but now I am finding that it does not recognize other devices. I have tried to send bluetooth files to my laptop, and I have tried connecting to my bluetooth speaker, but the tablet did not find any of those devices and just today I tried to mirror screen with my firestick but my tablet did not find the firestick although my phone found it and mirrored with no problem.

Checking a 'fixed' 32gb sd card
I had an LG K20plus and I put a 32gb sd card in. I formatted correctly. I transferred ALL of my photos and videos. The next day 80% were gone and after returning to the store the card read as corrupted. I just did the 'fix' recommended in these forums and I'm scared to put it back in the phone. I had to purchase a new phone because I believe the sd port was damaged by the sales girl.
I want to put it into the old phone to see if it still reads corrupt. Yea? Nah?

Disappeared Contacts on Samsung S7 Edge
Hello everyone, so a few days ago, I shared all of my dad's contacts onto his second phone using Bluetooth and today we noticed that over 200 of his contacts disappeared. Now unfortunately his contacts weren't backed up to Google accounts, so do any of you have any advice for me regarding this? Also any explanation as to why this happened would also be highly appreciated. TIA!

Can't set default launcher
Hi, I'm using an Oppo A73 running Android 7.1.1, ColorOS 3.2.
After installing Nova launcher, I'm facing this problem where it's not showing up in the
settings for me to select. When I try to set it as the default launcher, I get sent to this

Hi, I just moved from iphone to pixel but kept my apple music account. I put the app on my phone and prefer when my music doesn't stop after each album or playlist but I have to press the repeat all button every time i change music (it's really annoying). How do I reset/install a ROM on my phone?
Hello! Sorry to bother. I was wondering if I could install a ROM or reset the Allview A7 Lite that I have to its factor settings. I turned the phone off before class one morning, and after class when I tried to open it, it would just show a blank screen! I didn't root the phone or anything- and I can't exactly try to fix it with a PC since the charging port is utterly broken. The Facebook App Keeps Turning App Optimisation Off Somehow? (After Android Update)
I don't know if this is an Android issue or if it's just the Facebook App itself but this happened after an Android update a year ago or so.
My phone is a Samsung Galaxy DualSim phone.
After an Android Update my phone downloaded the Facebook App by itself.
I cannot delete it, only disable it.
I don't use Facebook. But I don't mind it being there either much. If it's just going to be there and do nothing then I'm fine with it I guess.
However, it does use SO much of my battery life even though I don't ever use it. And I would be fine with that too.
Android App Optimisation in the Smart Manager App makes it stop draining my battery completely every two hours.
My problem is that the Facebook App keeps turning App Optimisation off somehow? I dunno how and I can't figure it out and Google searching can't bring up any relevant details.
And...I'm not the greatest with technology either so I apologise if this is something easily fixable and a dumb question to ask here.
For an example....I'm not tech-savvy or whatever and don't know anything about Marshmallow and the other random names that come with the Android phones? Or whatever. I dunno what they even are?!
But this has REALLY begun to annoy me. Every couple of days or so I have to turn the optimisation on after it kills my phone's battery completely dead.
It also just RUINS the battery charger and takes two times longer to charge.
I looked it up and my Android Version is 5.1.1.
Please help. I will also post this to the Facebook help to see if they can do something about it.

How to download Play Store apps to SD card
Hey. I'm having a Honor 8 lite, 16 GB variant. The internal storage is pretty much full, and I wanted to download some other apps too. From one of your forum's questions, I came to know that the "Move to SD Card" option is not available for Honor phones. i changed the default storage to SD Card, which has about 8 GB free space. Still when I go to download the app, it asks me to uninstall some other apps to find space for the new one. I can't uninstall the other apps, as I use them. Is there any way to download the apps to SD Card??

LG e440 power button keeps restarting the phone
Hello, I'm having trouble with my LG e440.
Whenever I press the power button to turn on the phone, it acts as if I held it down and it restarts the phone. It's then stuck in a restarting loop, until I press the power button several times, then it boots up again.
At first, I thought it got stuck or sticky, so I opened up the phone, cleaned it, but the problem is still there.
Any help is much appreciated.

Taboola ads on lock screen
I have a UMX U673C phone. I keep getting ads popping up on my lock screen. I've tried everything I read. No pop up's when I'm using the phone. Just on my lock screen. I deleted all my down loaded app's. No luck. I factory reset the phone. Nothing was downloaded but I still get the annoying ad. Before I reset the phone I downloaded multiple adaware ad anti virus app's. Honestly they all were pretty lame. Eventually I'll get a new phone. Has anyone seen screen movement functions flipped on C302a
So my C302a seems to have flipped the screen movement functionality.
When you flip it into tablet mode by rotating the screen, the device sleeps and when you close the lid shut the screen stays on but will then time out and sleep after the set time.
Its essentially rendered the device useless in tablet mode - any ideas if this is a hardware or software fix??

Why do multiple attachments have to send as separate messages?

so after the most recent update most of my apps no longer show the number next to the top left corner. like messages app and say 15 unread messages, it'd show a 15 next to the top but for most apps its gone. the app icon badge setting thing is on as well. is it because the notifications are blocked because some are blocked

A way to recover data after black screen from drop or must phone be fixed internally?
Dropped my note 5 that was in an otter box and then got the black screen. Externally appears fine. The phone does turn on. I am not sure if it is in airplane or not. USB debugging is not enabled. AND finally it has a pattern lock on it. Money is not an object for me to retrieve the files on the phone. I will have the screen fixed if necessary. Have not been able to find any answers to my specific situation if I can do it without repairing the phone. Any help would be appreciated!

Phone like MotoG 5 that HAS compass and auto answer?
I have the above camera and I am pretty happy with it, except it has no compass sensor and cannot auto-answer. Go figure!
Anyone know a phone similar in performance and price that has the above two things? Phone info tends to not be standardised and simply omits what they do not have. :(

Can't connect my Samsung s8 to my car through usb
Used to have an iPhone and there were no issues with playing media through usb.
My Samsung s8 won't allow me to use it as a media device and will only charge it. Is there some sort of setting that you need to change so that the media can be read through the usb cable ?
Mentions something about usb file transfer but doesn't give me the option to use the phone as a media device and connect in with my car.
P.s. I don't have Bluetooth in my car

GS4 showing Custom and unlocked padlock after successfully preventing an OTA update
I have successfully avoided Verizon OTA updates by using various methods; however, the last time when the downloaded update was automatically installing, I did something that stopped the update but caused my phone, when rebooting, to show a black screen that said Custom with an unlocked padlock. I don't know what this is telling me. I'd like to root the phone and install another OS but I've been told that if your CID chip is 11 (which mine is) instead of 15, the bootloader cannot be unlocked. Can anyone weigh in here? Thanks.

LG K7 Phone Wont Turn On After Draining to 0%

Is it possible to work around the ONLY HTC adapative earphones?
I was given the Bolt thru insurance becuase i had a htc 10 and they had no more so they gave me this and called it comparable. So my phone has a broken glass and I want to recover the data to use it on another phone,
I tried using the dr.fone program but it did not have my model (Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini GT I8200L) and I thought I could use the Samsung Galaxy S3 arrangement to recover the data, but it did not work, now my phone is bricked. What i see in the screen is a the downloading screen and when I start the phone the screen stays in the inicial screen.

Why can't I flash any custom roms in TWRP?
Whenever I try to install any custom roms, I get the message: updater Process ended with Error 255. The only rom that I managed to install after factory resetting is Ressurection Remix (Version RR-N-v5.8.3-20170415-athene-official), Android 7.1.2.
My TWRP version is 3.2.1-0 + Motorola Moto G4
I can flash zip files like Magisk or SuperSu, just not rom files.

The events, birthdays, and holidays suddenly disappeared from my calendar yesterday
I use my calendar for all appointments and when I put a birthday in my contact list, it automatically puts that person's birthday on the calendar. Why does Ware OS work fine for a week and abruptly stop notifications on the watch
I have had this issue going on for a few months. I install everything on the Phone Galaxy S8 and then pair it with Ware OS running on LG Urbane. Everything works and it connects just fine. Everything work and I get notifications for a few days to a week and without any warning it stops sending notifications. It will randomly vibrate but no notification is on the watch. I might get a random calendar update but nothing else. I know it's connected to the phone because it's a trusted BT device therefore my phone is set to no require authentication. Oh by the way this probably has nothing to do with the latest Ware OS name change because it's been doing this since before that update. I also now have the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 Android 8.0.
I can get it working again if I do both of the following:
- Delete the app from my phone
- Reset the watch and paid from scratch again
Please help this is really frustrating.

Very frustrated with my S9+.....
I've had an HTC One M8 for rather a long time and guess not only had I got used to its ways, but it seemed to have a lot of (basic) stuff built in that has to be obtained thru Play Store with Samsung... For example in HTC it comes with the ability to create widgets built in - I'm really missing my going to work by train journey widget which was a shortcut to Google Maps for the train journey to work with the exact stations pre-selected so I could get an up to date view of if the train was delayed (and especially on these winter mornings, I could stay in the car as long as possible so that I didn't have to stand on a freezing train platform!). Now I have to install something which will allow me to create custom widgets and that whole thing just looks REALLY complicated and I've already altogether spent hours and hours going round in circles with just very basic stuff.
For examplewhat appears on the lock screen changes - about an hour ago I set a picture to show (which then knocked out the clock - I was trying to set an image from my gallery as a lock screen wallpaper but clearly failed miserably with that) - now, the clock only is back on the lock screen. I have KWGT widget maker installed and whilst scrolling through the options of which phone widget to use on the lock screen would ex[ect to see KWGT listed so I can pick the phone widget that I just set up in there - but I don't seem to be able to see it.
In Always on Display Alerts in Settings I can (apparently) only select 'Reminder' to be shown alerts for - I don't use Reminder, I use To Do app so why can't other apps be selected here?
There there is the way the home screen icon double tap to open behaves - great during the day but at night doesn't always work and trying to use the power button when the phone's sitting precariously on a charging stand when you're bleary-eyed at 2 in the morning doesn't fill me with joy. That I can't use my KWGT date time and clock for the always on display clock is a pain as I cannot see the Samsung clock it's so blasted small and again, at 2 in the morning, it's a pain in the *** as I can't see what time it is. Of course, I also can't see what time it is because the clock seems to turn itself off being always on display at some point in the night whereupon I haven't got a clue what the time is!
I've got it set to show badge counters and notifications set to on (say for Gmail) yet when I get emails there's no badge counter coming up.

I also seem to hear multiple multiple da-da da da-da notifications all the time and have NO idea what they are for and thus, how to get rid of them.
I used to have a very strong and loud notification for my Ring doorbell app, now I barely hear the virtual doorbell when it goes off - is there any way to make certain notifications louder??

And at the end of all that tome of woe, I've got a very poor understanding of which things need sorting in the Samsung settings, in KWGT, or which I should be utilising Bixby for (which I've not even gotten into that yet).
Don't know how to get over the hump really!
For examplewhat appears on the lock screen changes - about an hour ago I set a picture to show (which then knocked out the clock - I was trying to set an image from my gallery as a lock screen wallpaper but clearly failed miserably with that) - now, the clock only is back on the lock screen. I have KWGT widget maker installed and whilst scrolling through the options of which phone widget to use on the lock screen would ex[ect to see KWGT listed so I can pick the phone widget that I just set up in there - but I don't seem to be able to see it.
In Always on Display Alerts in Settings I can (apparently) only select 'Reminder' to be shown alerts for - I don't use Reminder, I use To Do app so why can't other apps be selected here?
There there is the way the home screen icon double tap to open behaves - great during the day but at night doesn't always work and trying to use the power button when the phone's sitting precariously on a charging stand when you're bleary-eyed at 2 in the morning doesn't fill me with joy. That I can't use my KWGT date time and clock for the always on display clock is a pain as I cannot see the Samsung clock it's so blasted small and again, at 2 in the morning, it's a pain in the *** as I can't see what time it is. Of course, I also can't see what time it is because the clock seems to turn itself off being always on display at some point in the night whereupon I haven't got a clue what the time is!
I've got it set to show badge counters and notifications set to on (say for Gmail) yet when I get emails there's no badge counter coming up.

I thought I'd be able to do more with this phone, but at the moment I can do less, nothing's intuitive, it's all really hard work and yet my expectation (rightly or wrongly) was that I'd be able to do absolutely loads of much more advanced stuff than I could have done on my HTC but to be honest, at the moment, I'm missing that little old phone a great deal.
I also seem to hear multiple multiple da-da da da-da notifications all the time and have NO idea what they are for and thus, how to get rid of them.
I used to have a very strong and loud notification for my Ring doorbell app, now I barely hear the virtual doorbell when it goes off - is there any way to make certain notifications louder??

Corrupted SD Card after 8.0 Update
After updating my Galaxy S8 last week, my SD card, with 1000+ pictures is corrupted. I removed the card and installed it in my old S5, which has not been updated, and it says it is still corrupted. Obviously this is a problem, and one that could have been avoided with a simple warning before the update. But that's probably asking too much.

Contacts Automatically Saved To Google
Hey guys,
I'm new to this so don't be to hard on me!
So I've recently been going through my Google Contacts and I synced and merged them with my phone contacts. But now when I go in to add a new contact, on the drop down it automatically says it will save to Google Contacts. I'm just wondering if I can save it to Phone without going into the drop down as sometimes I might be in a hurry getting a number off someone and save it to the wrong place. So if I can set phone to my default contact account or something then that would be great.
Please answer this if you know the solution, it makes my life that little bit easier.

Why is my "personalized" message notification gone?
Since the Oreo update, several of my family contacts had PERSONALIZED message notification sounds. This is now gone and they now notify me with my note's DEFAULT notification sound..and the ability to change it is not an option anymore, a feature I loved and feel is important to me.

I am wanting to get an Android tablet again, I used to own many android phones & tablets in the past including:
Nexus 1
Nexus 4
Xperia Z1
Nexus 7 1st Gen
HP Touchpad
Nexus 10
Xperia Tablet Z1
I moved to Apple products in 2014 and have just recently revived (partially) my HP Touchpad which was laying around in the cupboard. I miss the customisation on Android. I am wanting to buy a newer Android tablet but I have no idea what to get, so many around with slight variations...
I used to use XDA a fair bit to root all my android devices and I am fairly confident when it comes to doing this.
The tablet I want needs to be able to support rooting as that's what I miss, just being able to do things that it shouldn't. Custom ROM support is amazing I must have flashed so many ROMs on my Nexus devices.
Any idea's on what I should get? Battery life is quite important as I do a lot of traveling but not too important as I have a surplus of powerbanks I travel with.

I can't swipe through my pics anymore
I can't swipe right or left to browse through my pics. I tried other apps. I tried deleting cache and data. I tried it in local and SD locations. I tried deleting Google play service cache like some ***** recommended. I even did a factory reset. And it DID work for a few minutes after the reset. Then maybe as my apps were reinstalling perhaps it stopped working again. Am I going to have to reset again and keep trying nonstop and try to catch which app made it stop?

I have a Samsung galaxy j5. The device was working normally (it has a bloated battery, & I've had it for two years, just to confirm) and all of sudden, I wasn't able to log in due to the fact that the keyboard of the device wouldn't Load. Kingswear Kw18 watch. I want to disable call but still get the notification.
I've got a Kingswear Kw18 watch. when i get a call it goes through the watch AND my phone, so there is a BT delay (also the volume on my phone is greatly reduced so i cant hear people properly). I know i can turn setting off so the watch wont act as a phone, but then i dont receive the 'calling' notification or vibrate on it until the call has ended. Any way round this? (want notification of call, but not use watch to actually take the call).

i can't text swear words and NO i don't mean talk to text

Why does my S9+ display have an orange/red tint that won't go away?
Received my new S9+ yesterday and out of the box it came with a weird orange/red tint. Blue light filter is off, I messed with ALL of the display settings including color mode, the RGB sliders, and even the different vision impaired modes. Nothing seems to help. Did a few factory resets, cleared the cache.. No dice. Putting it next to my family member's S8 and it's clear that mine is different. Oddly enough the tint actually went away and was 100% normal for about 12-15 hrs before going back a few hrs ago. Any thoughts on what might be going on? Thanks.

Sgh-m919 stuck on 4.4.2 stock with a 4.2.2 stock baseband.
When choosing an APN in custom ROMs my provider would not show up. I would have to edit the only available APN changing the mnvo to none. Once saved a bunch of apns would appear and I was good to go. It got annoying so finally I flashed back to stock 4.4.2 ROM and 4.2.2 baseband to check out the service menu and qpst. In the 9090 menu I tapped something that erases stuff. I had a full twrp backup of 8.1 JDC. When restored the backup the only way everything would work is with the 4.4.2 bootloader and the 4.2.2 baseband. I have tried a ridiculous amount of things to upgrade and it's to no avail. Only the bootloader shows up and baseband is unknown. Why would a phone only work on one specific baseband and bootloader when it used to work on any of the T-Mobile roms. I also have to use LTE discovery app sometimes to reconnect. It's odd, I've messed with this phone a ton but with Odin and TWRP I could always get out of trouble. Did I break it this time?

S8: Audio stuttering when using wired earbuds?
I've had my Galaxy S8 since around July 2017 and have only had one issue with it not turning on, but that was easily solvable. Anyway, on to my issue.
It started 2 days ago. Whenever I play audio with Google Play Music through my AUX earbuds, it stutters (it sounds like someone is pressing play+pause very fast). However, it only does this when the screen hasn't been doing anything for sometime, or when the screen is off. It works perfectly fine if I'm typing or doing something on the screen, or if I don't have earbuds in.
I know it isn't an issue with the earbuds since they work fine on other devices, such as my 3Ds. I think it's an issue with my actual headphone jack.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated :)
It started 2 days ago. Whenever I play audio with Google Play Music through my AUX earbuds, it stutters (it sounds like someone is pressing play+pause very fast). However, it only does this when the screen hasn't been doing anything for sometime, or when the screen is off. It works perfectly fine if I'm typing or doing something on the screen, or if I don't have earbuds in.
I know it isn't an issue with the earbuds since they work fine on other devices, such as my 3Ds. I think it's an issue with my actual headphone jack.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated :)

Security Update for LG Stylo 3 plus??
I have straight talk and my security patch is dated Jan. 1st 2017! Have called to see when this would.get updated or if there was an update coming and they can't even telle that. Switching carriers ASAP.
