How do you gain access to a Galaxy s7 after a software update without a password?

I just recently bought a new Galaxy s7 and it just had a software update installed on it. The problem is I have a fingerprint lock on it not a password and it is asking for a password in order for me to gain access to use the phone. What can I do in this situation in order so I can use my phone?
