Cant Send Attached Photos in Gmail after Forced Samsung Update

For years I have been able to use my Gmail to attach photos or files that Ive taken with my camera app, stored on my device by using the attach file icon in gmail. Everything appears to attach, but the file remains forever stuck unsent in the outbox. This happened after a recent Samsung tablet update was forced on me. No problems before this (theres ALWAYS a bug or problem when Samsung forces an update!). Three years ago everything was working perfectly with gmail, now its just one bug issue after another taking away the functionality,
