"Loading media..." Messenger

I have a OnePlus 6T, since a week or two back Messenger can't load the Gallery of photos when sending. If I press the image icon it's a gray box where it says "Loading media...", If I press the grid icon it just spins while loading Gallery. I can however click Gallery and choose a subfolder and Messenger can see all images in all subfolders and send from there. But it's three steps to send an image.. I have tried reinstalling Messenger, clearing cache, resetting network settings and rebooting my phone after 10 min. No other apps has this issue (Not even Instagram or Messenger Lite).
