Why is my media sound much lower on one side of my earphones, when calls are normal?

I use a Huawei mate 10 lite and a pair of brand new JBL headphones. Sound will come out the left side, but only very quietly. I have tried several sound adjusting apps, and none of them make any difference. As stated, the problem doesn't occur in normal calls, only while playing music or talking on apps like discord. Any ideas?
