Unable to turnoff Microsoft Outlook (MSN) account sync

When I turn off Outlook (MSN) account sync (settings -> accounts -> Microsoft Outlook) it appears to turn itself back on after few hours automatically. Has anyone else tried this or encountered similar problems, or have any ideas about how to turn it off and keep it off?
