S7 edge bought from Europe and say that i have to use european sim

My ucle lives in Switzerland and he brought me a s7 edge to pakistan half way around the globe. Under the EUROPEAN SIM CARD ONLY seal it says that i have to use a european sim card for about 5 minutes to unlock it. My sim is working fine i just need to know that i am going to canada so will it work there. My sim is curruntly working in pakistan and i used that sim to activate my s7 edge no problems yet. I am just worried my phone might not work in canada. Can any help me help me out
