Samsung Galaxy S5 send icon will not send text messages

When I am trying to compose and send a text, the send icon will not work or send the message. I have to save as a draft, open the draft and then tap the send icon. Same thing happens when I am replying. I could be a group text or individual text. What's up? Did not start until after I accepted the updates that ATT sent out yesterday.
