Why will the Bluetooth not work on my Samsung J3?

I've had a Samsung J3 for two days now and it will not connect properly to the Bluetooth stereo in my car. I have a 2011 ford Focus and have tried a range of solutions to fix the problem such as downloading a different calling app, changing the volume settings, disabling Google app (talk to google), disconnecting and reconnecting and resetting the phone. My phone will connect with the car, allow me to access call lists and my music but if I try to phone anyone it will not work. The call goes through but the receiver can not hear me and I can not hear them. I'm able to phone people once disconnected from the car.
