Excessive Ram usage on Xiaomi redmi 3s.

I recently bought a Xiaomi redmi 3s.The phone is great but even after clearing all background apps it shows around 1.4 Gb out of 2 Gb ram is still in use.Is this normal,If not how can I clear more RAM.
