How to connect Golf apps to GPS on Gear S3

I successfully used Golf Navi on my Gear S3 for 2 rounds, but it has since stopped connecting to gps. I have not adjusted any settings on my phone or watch. I tried installing a different golf app - but it also tells me that I have no gps connection. Is this problem that anyone else has encountered - or may I have inadvertently changed a setting on my watch or phone that has interfered with the watches ability to pick up a gps signal?
