Android Auto not compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge?

I received a new car stereo for Christmas, with Android Auto built in. I was searching for my Android Auto app on my phone, when I realized I didn't have it. I go to the Google Play store to download it again, and I see that my phone is not compatible with it. How do I pay so much to get a flagship Android phone, and Android Auto is not compatible with it? This is absolutely ridiculous! I know there are workarounds downloading an APK and such, but this still is ridiculous that a flagship phone isn't compatible! Samsung, Google, get your stuff together!
