Facebook notification won’t clear after reading on Samsung Galaxy s7

On my Galaxy s7 FB will show a number of notifications. I go check them out and clear all of them. Go back to homepage and it still shows I have notifications when I know I don't. Only way to clear it is to restart. How can I permanently fix this?
