Galaxy tablet loses content (ebooks) after charging

I subscribe to a library app for ebooks and movies (HOOPLA). If I am in the middle of reading a book and need to recharge my tablet, then I loose the downloaded content. The ebook service provider says this is not a problem with their app, but with my tablet. How do I prevent losing my downloaded books?
