Why has my contact photo suddenly disappeared from text messages?

I am running Nougat 7.1.1 on Moto Z2 Play, and using the stock messages app. Recently, my contact photo has disappeared from my text messages. Images from my other contacts display fine, mine is the only one missing. Is this a phone problem or a google problem?
