Galaxy s5 can't get internet outside house WiFi.

I bought a used Samsung Galaxy S5 from Amazon used and customized it and loved it but could not get it to work with the Internet or text outside of the house WiFi and I exchanged it and I'm having the same exact problem with this one. I don't want to have to return it and get a different phone for almost the same amount of money from Walmart. Please help me. Data is turned on and Wifi is turned on I don't know what to do. I'm very frustrated please help, thank you, Desiree Harper
