Want a full screen map that follows me - without navigation or overlays

I am looking for a map app that is street level detail for monitoring when I drive. I want it full screen, landscape, oriented north, and keeping me centered. I want to be able to expand and contract it (pinching or menu). I can't find a way to do that with google map. Does anyone know a tip or another map program that does this?
