Media pauses when using volume buttons

Hi, I've had my GS7 since lately after the release, It has worked splendidly except for one thing which I managed to fix.
Recently however (since about 2 months ago) my phone has started to act strangely when changing the volume with my hardware buttons.

Here's how it goes; When I play any media it plays normally, however when I press volume up/down (sometimes it takes a few clicks) it pauses the media playing... but here comes the strange part, it only does it once with 'every media' which means if I play the media again after it has been paused I can change the volume flawlessly without any strangeness... If I then start another media, like another youtube video and change volume, it pauses again and so on.

It reacts a bit differently with the stock music player, it does it once but when the music track changes it doesn't do it again, I have to actually stop the music, not pause but stop it (happens either if you close the process or doesn't use the music player for a while and it 'resets' the position of the track back to 00.00 or if you press the x button in the notification dragdown) and then play a track again.

I thought it could have been an app of mine but I cant find any suspicious ones installed..
I am considering a reset, but I want to see if there's anything else to do before I do that, cause well a reset is never fun...

My GS7 is the SM-G930W8 with Android v.6.0.1 Marshmallow

How do you unflash an SCH-1545?

Several years ago when flashing was necessary, I flashed my 4G Samsung Galaxy to 3G in order to work with 3rd party providers. I've recently been having problems with it and have been told I need to "unflash" the phone. Several technicians have been VERY clear that this is not as simple as a factory reset and unless I find someone who knows exactly how to do this, I could easily render my phone permanently unusable. Is there anyone out there who was well versed in flashing phones that can please guide me on how to unflash my phone? As much as I'd really prefer it, I simply can't afford to buy a new one.

Getting a virus on Wikia

A few months ago, I visited a Wikia-powered website (I forgot what it was called) and suddenly, I got redirected to a spam site. Now, I've been browsing Final Fantasy Wikia, and I suddenly got redirected to "security-warning dot mobile"! Fortunately, Google's Safe Browsing protected me this time. What's happening? I've gotten more than 5 of these in the past few months :(

Touch Screen (Digitizer) to Display Screen Mapping Problems

Hello
I just replaced the touch screen of my generic 9inch Android Tablet running on Jelly Bean. I couldn't get the genuine one so I just bought a compatible one: The screen works BUT it doesn't properly map the co-ordinates on the Display. Bottom and the sides are OK but the top (about 1 inch in landscape mode) has no response. The screen is all working : The bottom matches fine but as you swipe upwards you can see that your finger touches a higher point which matches a slightly lower point on the display. When your finger reaches the top …the matching map becomes about 1inch bellow on the display.
I need help to fix this issue: I think there would be a file inside my android where there would be values to match the Display Screen mapping with the Touch Screen (digitizer)

Weird picture shows up in gallery. Didn't take it.

I was deleting pictures from my gallery and I noticed the last picture shown in the gallery was not taken by me. I was at home and didn't take a picture at the time the picture showed it was taken in Details. The picture looks like a logo of sorts but it says "Atom Holocau" and part of word is cut off. Creeped out. How could this happen?

S7 battery life from bad to deplorable

For the last several months, I haven't been very happy with my S7 battery life. I've tried all of the "fixes", installed Accubattery for a time (to see which apps were possibly rogue) and always roll with my screen brightness way down. It all came to a head this weekend, when I decided to reformat. So far, all this has done is make it worse. Last night, I was full at 11 pm, and by 4:20 am, with NO use, I was at 86%. By lunch time, I was at 50%. I then went from a full battery at noon, to 5% at 5:45, with what I would deem "normal" use. There are no system updates to be had at this time either. 2 more issues I've had since the reformat...the lights at the bottom of my phone light up, and my screen is blank and unresponsive for anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. I deleted Accubattery thinking it was doing me a disservice. It had been 2 days, and still hadn't come up with a list of which apps were consuming my battery. System battery usage was showing a high of 22% (android sytem)

Youtube update message

Originally, Youtube just occasionally tells you that an update is available, and gives you an option to immediately continue using the old version. However, the newer versions of Youtube (particularly the late 2016 versions) forces you to wait 30 seconds before you can use the older version. Is there a way to change this? Youtube ads

I have been watching Vocaloid videos recently, and after a while, the ad showing up below the video description always gets to be Zgirls. I tried turning off all ads based on my interests settings (both signed in ad settings and signed out add settings) in My Account, and opting out of ads in Google Settings, and this has worked. The ads that show up usually get to be more of varied shopping apps.

However, after a while, the Zgirls ad keeps appearing again! What could be happening?

Fixing "Unfortunately, the process com.andriod.systemui has stopped" causes a different error.

I read through the detail of previous answers to correct the above UI error and found that uninstalling Google updates allows me to again hold the "Home" button of my Galaxy S3 down to see and/or close running apps. However, I don't seem to have the option to uninstall just the latest Google update as some fixes recommend - I have to uninstall all updates. Then I get "Unfortunately, com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox has stopped" message and I can't do Google searches at all on my phone. Now what??

S7 Edge (SM-G935A) - Help to Restore Stock Firmware

I wanted Nougat early rather than wait on AT&T. After flashing a modified AP file through Odin, I changed my mind. Ever since that happened, the phone is slow and inundated with notifications concerning security issues. I tried to restore to factory settings and flashing back to stock firmware...no luck in resolving the issues.

I think I haven't been able to restore the phone to stock because of something related to either my baseband version ending with APK1 or something to do with the bootloader being 'rev 04.' I can't seem to locate firmware files that are compatible with my phone's current software.

I am not really what to search for exactly and I haven't had any luck being able to determine where to locate compatible BL/AP/CSC/CL files. Please help!

Considering Pixel, have quick questions

Icon badges (not sure what they are called), you know that small number that appears on an app like mail or messenger the indicates you have new unread messages, I read in another thread this phone doesn't have that. Is that true?

Black screen after using eRecovery

Hello guys.

Yesterday i received my phone and after doing some research on the forums i decided to try out the nougat 7.0 beta for my phone but that went not so good....
I put the dload folder whit inside the update.app inside of my sd card and did go to erecovery to go to 7.0 but afterwards when he was on 100% he did just go black screen and no sign of life remain...the only thing that still works is fastboot but i don't know what to do more.. Can anyone help me whit this error ?

How do I get my downloaded images from Chrome to appear in Photos so I can use them in other apps?

OK, so I have a fairly simple use case -- I want to download cute cat pics that I found via Chrome, and then embed them in Messenger.

But in Messenger can only see the built-in gallery, and not wherever Chrome puts its downloads. I've seen hints elsewhere that there should be a "downloads" gallery which shows up in Photos, but I do not have this. I've tried installing media.re.scan to force a rescan of the Downloads directory, and this seemed to say it found/scanned items, but still no downloads gallery appeared in photos.

I can get around this by going into the Downloads app from Chrome, and using the share button, but that's not really great, since it embeds the link to the original site I downloaded the photo from, not the photo itself! Cute cat pics are nowhere near as cute with three lines of URL garbage above them!

How do I get my downloaded images to appear in Photos?

(My phone is a Sonim XP7700, with Android 5.1.1)

Nexus 5: Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped bug causing marriage breakdown!!!

Hi guys,

Got a serious issue with my wife's Nexus 5 where its now spamming her phone with the notorious "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped" error. So far have tried:

1) Clearing the cache
2) Resetting app settings
3) Restarting the phone
3) Clearing up internal storage
4) Factory data resetting the phone - which in itself caused chaos as I then ran into the notorious "checking connection" bug when setting it back up again which meant I had to spend hours sideloading marshmallow onto it again to get it working.
5) Wipe cache partition from reboot menu
6) Changing Language/Turning on/off Airplane mode
7) Changing APN settings
8) Downloaded multiple versions of Google play servers: 10.2.91, 10.2.89, 10.0.84, 10.0.83 and 9.8.77. None of them worked.

Can somebody please help as its driving me and my wife insane!

My wife and I are Verizon android users. For an unknown reason on her Cloud, she has a ton of Docs that can't be opened. We even tried emailing them to ourselves to see if a laptop would do it. It says they are of an old format. (Or something to that effect) my daughter watches YouTube on her phone all the time, so concerned that she might be hacked. help!!

What is the notification icon that looks like a circle with two horizontal dashes inside the circle?

Today for about an hour I had an icon in my notification bar which looked like a circle with a horizontal dashed line inside the circle (ie, just two horizontal dashes inside the circle).

Pulling down the notification bar revealed no detail associated with the icon.

It was definitely not the "do not disturb" icon nor the "data saver" icon; I know what those are already.

The forum will now allow me to post a link to a screen shot of the icon.

Killing all running apps failed to get rid of the icon, and it went away on its own after about an hour.

Galaxie S6 Active stops streaming music at night after 1 hour.

I dont believe this is a WIFI connectivity issue. I have a dual band TP link that works great. I think all the router setting are correct. I have the DHCP address lease time set for 48 hours. I stream to Roku and other devices with absolutely no problems. After 9pm while streaming music the (music) will shut down at precisely 1 hour. I dont use any
of the phones battery saving features. It will keep playing if connected to the charger.

How can I reset Honor 8 to no lock screen password after Google Android Manager password reset?

I normally don't have a lock screen password on my Honor 8, however, I just momentarily lost my phone in a public library and through the Android Device Manager feature, I set a password to lock the phone.

When I found my phone, I was able to unlock the phone, but when I went back into my settings to remove the password, I couldn't as the "None" option in "Password" is greyed out and says "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage".

I then enabled "Developer options" in an attempt to reset this, but the "Screen lock" section in "Developer options" is also greyed out and says the same message as before.

I then deleted credentials but had no success either.

Any suggestions?

Google Play not working on home wifi network

I've bought an ASUS Z300M tablet and Google Play wont log in when I'm on my home WIFI network. I managed to add a Google account and log into Play by setting up a personal hotspot from my iPhone sharing mobile data, but when I switch back to WIFI Play won't connect. I've tried clearing Google Play cash, deleted application data and even reset factory settings on the whole tablet. The problem seems to be with the router settings but I can't figure out what to adjust. I have a Technicolor TC2700U router provided by the ISP.

Why is my Tab A stuck on this screen?

Viber restaring

Hi all,

Since yesterday, my Viber constantly crashes. It openes for like 2-3 seconds, and then it force closes.
So far, I've tried restarting the phone, moving app to SD card, uninstalling and installing, downgrading to previous version, but no luck.

So I'm running latest Viber app, there are also no software updates for ROM (I'm running original ROM, phone is not rooted.)
When I go to running apps in developer options, it just says restarting, 0 processes and 2 services (voipService and AccountAuthenticatorService).

Also, when I go to settings, where is no Viber account to sync, I try to add it, but the account is not there.
I did not install any new apps recently.

I've created issue for Viber support, but honestly it looks that they are reaaaaly slow.
Phone is HTC Desire Eye.

Does anybody have any idea, what is causing this, and how to fix it?

Galaxy S7 Edge 64gb turned to 32gb after reset

So I recently bought a Galaxy S7 edge which was labeled as having 64 gb of internal memory from a coworker who bought it from someone selling it from one of those buy/trade apps for a pretty good deal. I looked at all the information, even downloaded that "Genuine Galaxy" app and everything matched up. It said it was 64 go but after downloading no more than 3-4 apps I was already out of memory which was weird to me. So I decided to factory reset the phone and after it was done it checked the storage and it had 32 gb of internal memory instead. What in Tarnation happened to my phone. I still got it a a good deal comparing to how much it's being sold for currently but I need to know how Did I even lose internal storage space from resetting it and maybe if its possible to regain it. (For selling purposes because obviously it's more valuable with the 64 gb)

Battey life not adding up

Recently, as in the past week or two, my Galaxy S5 has suddenly started draining its battery in record time. I'm in college, and normally during a class, the battery would go down maybe 1-2%. But, recently, it's been decreasing 10-20%. Sometimes, when I'm using chrome, I can see the battery decreasing faster than 1% per minute. The strange part is this: There was a span of 2 days last week where this stopped happening. The even stranger part is that the battery logger on android logged ~10% of battery usage last night since the full charge from various apps. However, the battery level had decreased by 26%. Is this malware or some stupid app hogging resources?

I accidentally deleted my Tribute 5 Visual Vmail app...

Play store offers a few diff vmail apps, none of which is the original app it seems. I uploaded something called visual voicemail however upon trying to access it, an error "can't reach the correct cellular provider (or similar)" message kept popping up, preventing set-up. My Samsung Galaxy Note4 is freezing, despite a factory reset and cleared cache.

My phone began freezing and resetting itself about a week ago. I decided to backup my photos at that point just in case, which freed up enough space for me to update my firmware, which I admittedly haven't done in a while.
The first update went pretty normally. The second one however, installed all the way and then proceeded to freeze on the Sprint startup screen.

I took the battery out after waiting for almost 10 minutes because my phone began to feel way too warm. Turned it back on, same problem. After a few attempts, I did the recovery mode wipe cache and factory reset. It was successful. But then it froze on the Sprint screen again. I tried once more, and the same thing happened again.

I'm really at a loss. I don't know what else to try, and I can't go to the Sprint store until the weekend. But I really need my phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Galaxy Note4 stuck on Sprint screen despite factory reset.

My phone has been crashing and restarting itself for about a week now. I backed up my photos and data and then proceeded to try to upgrade the firmware, which worked at first. Then a second update started and it froze on the Sprint screen for the first time.

I ended up doing a factory reset using recovery mode, but it is still stuck on the Sprint screen even after two successful factory reset attempts.

Mysterious uploading on wifi

My Wi-Fi has been going really slow at home so I called my internet company and we did an hour of tests and found out it was my phone that kept uploading stuff and it's using up 98% of my internet. But I already turned off all my auto back up and auto update and everything I can find on the setting menu. Also, nothing is showing on the notification bar saying uploading or downloading. When I turned off my Wi-Fi on my phone, the internet is super fast again, but once I turn on the Wi-Fi on my phone, the internet is slower than a turtle. Is there some hacker trying to upload personal information?? Please help.

How can I fix my Google account syncing error (ALL GOOGLE PRODUCTS) on my Lenovo A6010?

I'm having syncing issues with my Google account. My Lenovo A6010 is running on Android Lollipop 5.1 and I have 3 Google accounts stored in it. I'm having this problem for a few days now and still I could not find the solution to fix it.

Every time I open the Google Play store app, it crashes. My Gmail won't sync my latest emails, the Youtube app seems to be on the loading screen for too long and all of my Google apps are not syncing. I've tried to remove all of my 3 Google accounts from my device but it crashes and failed to remove it. I've noticed that the Google Play service app keeps on crashing when I tried to open it. I even tried to add a new Google account but it just won't let me add.

I would appreciate it if someone leaves a solution that won't make me wipe all of my data off my phone. So far, I've restarted my phone and nothing changed. My Internet connection is fine and has nothing to do with the issue. I've never encountered this kind of problem before.

"Unfortunately, HTC Sense has stopped."

Hello, my Rezound ran out of battery earlier today at work and turned off, so when I got home, I plugged it into my charger and turned it on a few minutes later (i.e. once it had about 10% charge or so). When it loaded, I unlocked my phone, and it attempted to load my home screen, but an error window showed "Unfortunately, HTC Sense has stopped." When I clicked OK, my phone just repeated the same thing with the same result.

Network may be monitored warning notification

I have installed a Self-signed SSL Certificate onto my S7 so that I can use an app for work that requires a secure connection. The app works fine.

My problem is that I now get a notification telling me to "Check credentials. A trusted certificate on your device is allowing a third party to monitor your network activity, including your emails, apps and secure websites."

Clicking on the CHECK TRUSTED CREDENTIALS link takes me to the "View security cerificates" setting, focused on the USER tab and the only one listed is the one I have just installed.

How can I prevent this warning from appearing all of the time?

Screen gets blocked and loose control of my device, why?

Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Ultra Power Saving Mode Won't Shut Off

The other day my phone was dying so I turned on ultra power saving mode. The phone died before I could plug it into a charger. When I did finally charge the phone and turn it back on I was unable to turn off ultra power saving mode. I've gone into the settings and toggled the mode off but it turns back on instantly. My apps and stuff show up but I can't go in to any of them save the settings. I know I can probably do a factory reset, but I would like to avoid that if possible. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

How do I permenantly delete photos from my Galaxt Edge 7?

I used to have an iphone that when you deleted a photo you had to then go to another folder to delete recently deleted photos. Now with my new phone how do I do that? my galaxy s7 network mode is set on global and im not getting any network signal

I recently brought a galaxy s7 set it up with my vodafone simcard and away i went everything was perfect! Then not even 24hrs later i dropped it smashing the front screen i went and had the screen replaced and now My galaxy s7 network is set on global and i have no network signal and when i try to change it to LTE / CDMA its coming up with attention searching for LTE/CDMA and when i select OK it just goes away and nothing changes and when i select LTE / GSM / UTMS its coming up with attention searching for and when i select OK it comes up with system select aotomatic or manual when i choose automatic it again dissapears and nothing changes when i select manual it opens network operators and gives the option of search networks or select automatically. When i select search network, error while searching for networks pops up or if i touch select automatically, unable to connect try later pops up!
Is there another way i can change the network or get around this??

Need help synching Samsung J1 with PS3

I synched my new Samsung J1 mini phone with PS3 when I recently bought it. Now, I go onto youtube on phone to get movie ready to watch and try to transfer it to PS3 but now have no luck. I did it a couple of times but now forget. Pls help before I smash yet another phone out of utter frustration. I am pulling my hair out in frustration but don't want to smash phone. Pls help wizzes at Androids.

"App not installed" error message

I saw the deal about some games for free on Amazon Underground, and I wanted to "buy" them.
I enabled the "download from unknown source" thing in Settings and edited an option in Avast, so I was able to install Underground and a game.
The problem is with other 2 games. Undergound download the files every time I try to insall(very annoying), and at the end of download I push "Install". So, the error message shows up "app not installed".
What is the problem? Amazon Undergound, Avast?

My Galaxy S7 won't connect to my Windows 10 laptop

Hi I have the UK version of the Galaxy S7 SM-G930F on the O2 network running Android 6.0.1

Baseband:- G930FXXU1BPJG

Build :- MMB29K.G930FXXS1BPLD

I have tried to connect it to windows 10 using both Smart Switch and Kies 3 and both time my laptop doesn't seem to recognise the handset. When i plug in my Samsung USB cable the handset charges but nothing else happens. I don't even get an error message saying my handset can't be recognised.

I have updated Kies too the latest version and the USB drivers.

Any ides / solutions to my problem?

mdnsd draining battery

I'm running Android 4.4.4 on a two year old Nexus 5 phone & have never had either Firefox or any drone apps installed on it.
My battery life has recently gone completely to ****. Today, I noticed that a process called "mdnsd" had devoured 35% of my battery, dragging it down to just under 10% power, in less than 90 minutes.
This evening, it helped itself to some data while I was travelling between wifi zones (only 40kb, but it's a concern, because I'd thought I'd turned off my data).
Please help!

How can I remove audio files to store elsewhere Samsung Galaxy core prime 5.1.1?

I was unable to use WhatsApp because of insufficient memory. My total memory is 8.00GB and the system memory is using 3.02GB. The used space is 4.60GB. I have audio files using 1.2GB. I uninstalled WhatsApp. I would like to reinstal it. Can I store the audio files elsewhere? Don't want to lose them but would happily use them on my iPad if I knew how to do it. Thanks

Car stereo head unit to work with Samsung S7 AND Asus Nexus 7 2103 2nd gen in car

Why does my BLU Studio X PLus shutdown when I play videos?

It's 2 days later and I have not been able able to access the replies to my original thread. Someone is blocking every attempt I make. I can can see the comment that threads merged but that's it. Why does my screen stop responding?

The screen on my tablet will randomly stop responding when I'm holding it down. I could be scrolling and it would just stop even if my finger was still moving on the screen. I use it mainly for emulating and that's where it happens the most. For example, I could be holding down a button and despite my thumb still on it, any input on the screen would randomly cease. If I lift my finger and press and hold again, it will work, but after a second it will stop again. It does it in intervals almost like a rhythm... I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, the model is SM-T23ONU.

Moto X pure Bluetooth issues

My Moto x puré does not share audio via Bluetooth. It was working fine and suddenly I stopped hearing what I wanted on my car radio. My S6 burns through my cables when charging it in 10 seconds after hand sanitizer cleaning!

After cleaning my S6 with hand sanitizer today, 5-6 hrs later I charged it. It charged for about 10 seconds before burning the plastic area inside the metal head of my charging cable off. I tested it again thinking it must have been some error with a new cable and it promptly destroyed that one as well.

When I plug a cable into my S6 to charge it, it will charge for 10 seconds, meanwhile I believe some leftover alcohol is reacting with the electricity causing a chemical burn destroying my cable in 10 seconds. Naturally after it has burnt my cable head my phone stops charging.

I didn't intentionally clean my USB charging port with hand sanitizer but I wiped it down and I believe some likely got into the port. I have tested a 3rd cable for about 2 seconds and it still charges and it still burns, luckily this time I pulled my test cable out before any serious damage was done.

What do I do in this situation? Please help, I use my phone everyday!!

Why any headphones are working properly on my Huawei P9 Lite?

Hello guys. I hope you can help me with this big and strange issue I'm having.
Facts to know before you understand what's happening.

- I've tried 2 different headphones (The Original ones as well)
- The sound issue only happens with the headphones and not normally
- It is a Huawei P9 Lite with 5 months.

So the problem is:
When the headphones are pluged in, the sound on the RIGHT earphone plays perfect. The thing is that the sound in the LEFT earphone only plays if the volume is at more than 50% and the only thing you can hear is like "SHOTS" from the music. IT's hard to explain. It's like super loud (so much you must take out the earphone) peaks of the music. But you can't even understand what you're listening, The left earphone only "works" when at the song high peaks...
Its really hard to explain....

how to remove Backlight on s7edge in night mode

my s7 edge recently started having the back light on in night mode or when I have the always on display which never was like that before..just the numbers itself use to be illuminated. It's definitely the phone & not the charger or the cord– I checked everything. why no forum or website is talking about the Pixel issue with mic/camera/earphone???

I had a Google Pixel for about a month and a half, and 5 days ago, the struggle began. I started having problems sending audios via whatsapp, or just trying to ask something to google. then I realize that when calling someone my earphone wasn't working, no sound was heard, but switching to speaker worked just fine.
I panic, I couldn't believe that my phone of 700 dollars broke with no reason, so in among with several attempts to fix it, I rebooted my phone and it worked, everything was back to normal... for a few hours. Later I realized that in addition to all those flaws, the camera was failing too.
I can't believe google sold us a phone like this, I was amazed with the pixel, but now I'm thinking going back to Apple.
I had high expectactions for this phone, and it doesn't even work properly.
and the most anoying thing is that NO WEBSITE, or REVIEWER is talking about this.
This issue qualifies like the note exploding, the only difference is that the thing exploding here is our desire to buy another google phone

Why is my whole touch screen unresponsive

I have had my Galaxy S6 for a month now. It's always been inside of an otterbox, NEVER has came out. Never been dropped, wet, ect. But MULTIPLE times a day my phone won't allow me to use my screen. For example, when i try to draw my password pattern on my phone.. i can't do so because my screen is unresponsive. If I am recieving a phone call, I cant swipe to answer nor decline. all my buttons work, my home, lock and volume buttons. I can even get into my phone with my thumb print. But when it comes to physically being able to use my phone, i just CANT. My screen hasn't worked for 24+ hours. Ive let the battery drain.. I've even held my down volume+ home + lock button to reset my phone and STILL nothing. This is a bit ridiculous considering i bought this phone BRAND new and have only had it for ONE month.. please, ANYONE help me.. i'm open to any/ everything.

The backward button doesn't seem to work suddenly

All the sudden, it seems like my backward button is not functioning. I bring up the keyboard to type, but when I press the backward button, the keyboard doesn't minimize. It still stays on the screen. I have to press Home button to get out of that.

Real battery life for Turbo vs Turbo 2?

I now see the specs show battery is smaller in Turbo 2. The sales person said "longer battery life," but I am not getting that performance.

I always got 1.5 to 2 days on a full charge with my Turbo.

phone keeps freezing and shutting and it"s draining the battery

the phone just had a software update and ever since it keeps shutting off and turning back on and it drains the battery every time it comes back on. It keeps freezing up and I can"t disconnect a call or text or play any games. It"s very frustrating

Why are recent apps sticking to background after hitting "home" button.

After using an app, I press the home button to return to my home screen. The app I just exited is now the background of my phone. This also occurs for the recent apps button. If I view the fan of recent apps, and hit the home button to return to the home page, the fan view I just closed is now the background of the phone.

Delete dumpstate logcat gap no effect on Samsung j3

my s6 keeps turning on by itself as if the home key is constantly being pressed. what is causing it and how can i fix it. the home bottom seems to be ok. i saw on youtube a vid about rubbing it with rubbing alcahol. iv tried rubbing it without the alcahol and it does fix for a few mins but then keeps turning back on again

Galaxy Note 10.1 seriously overheating and now wont read SD card

Hi - I have notice over recent weeks my tablet gets extremely hot on top left area looking at it from the back. It started flickering and I turned it off for a while. It cooled so I switched it on, none of the apps on my SD card were there - its not seeing it and it heated up within seconds. Any thoughts please?

Galaxy s5 display black

Hey guys I just dropped my galaxy s5 and now the display wont turn on. The keys at the bottom light up when I press the home button and the blue/green light at the top blinks when I have notifications but the screen is totally dark.

Ive tried taking the battery out but that didnt help.

Am I able to take this in for a repair or would I have to replace the phone altogether.

Cant join Windows network with Nvidia Shield

OK this is driving me absolutely nuts. I cant get the Nvidia Shield to connect to my home network. Well, at least not more than once.

I am running a Windows 10 computer on a simple home network, with the PC connected to a Verizon fiber router which is connected to a switch which has four runs of Cat6 to various rooms.

I installed Kodi 16.1 onto the Shield and went to Video/Add Video Source/Browse/Windows Network (SMB)/... and it connected first to WORKGROUP/Name of PC/Movies Woohoo!!!! I scan the content, it scrapes the content and Im good to go, confidence is high!
Now I go to add TV Shows the same way Video/Add Video Source/Browse/Windows Network (SMB)/ nothing (nada, zero, zilch)

It just doesnt connect reliably. A few tries later it connects. Days later at startup it cant find the shares to update the library so Kodi get stuck at "Preparing..."

Im going to have to send this thing back if I cant get it to connect reliably.

I cant be the only person with a probelm connecting to a Windows 10 PC through a simple network, but I get the feeling I am. I have this problem posted on Microsofts forum, Nvidias forum, and Windows ten forum and all I'm getting is crickets.

HELP!!!!

What accessories do not work when I install Android 5.1 on my Iconia a100 /1gb ram

Why has the text app' on Nougat only got letters for names now?

Before the update to Nougat a few days ago my text message list showed peoples names;now I only get a single letter.If you have three people beginning with the letter 'J' how are you meant to know which one it is?

How to save an audio text from the Message+ app as an mp3 file?

I have an LG K4 using the Verizon Message+ app. My daughter sent me an audio text and I want to save it as an mp3 file. When I press and hold the text the only save option is to the Gallery, which doesn't support audio. Any suggestions? Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Why does my OneNote App use OneDrive instead of PDF viewer?

The OneNote App on my Galaxy S6 has always opened PDF attachments embedded in OneNote using a PDF view application that I have. The last few days it defaults to opening the PDF files with OneDrive and just goes to a page with a big X on it and a code (Screen Shot attached). I know that you are supposed to be able to remove the default program in the settings. I reviewed the default settings in OneNote, PDF, and OneDrive and can't see any default connections for PDF files. I have completely uninstalled OneNote and re-installed and still have the same issue.

Play Store slows to a crawl after 100% download

Lately, after a download reaches 100%, my Play Store app just sits there, still saying "downloading", and goes no further. The "Open" button never does appear. Sometimes the install actually does succeed, but only after an interminable wait, and only in the background, never reaching the point of displaying the "Open" button or otherwise offering any sign that the installation really did complete.

I was tinkering with my boottime selection of startup apps and services recently (phone is rooted), and clearly I disabled something that the Play Store and/or the package installer depends on, but I could really use a hint as to what to look for (and where!). Or is there a file containing a task list or something that needs to be cleaned up or deleted?

What's most odd is that the install actually succeeds eventually (usually, anyway; hard to say what the probability of success might be, since I haven't tried it enough times to really say). It seems that Play Store transfers control to the package installer, but control is never handed back to it, and regardless, the install takes forever to complete.

Does anyone know the dependencies for Play Store and the package installer, or how to go about finding them out?

I thought of just reinstalling both Play Store and the installer, but can't even find the Play Store app, and not at all sure which of the many installers available I should get.
Running Android 5.1 on a Coolpad Catalyst. Any advice will be *so* very much appreciated!
