Red highlight area at top of screen

Hello. I am new here and a recent convert to Android 6. Recharged flat battery and then got this red highlighted area at top of screen. What does it mean, and how do I get rid of it? Oukitel U20 Plus. Thanks for any help & advice.Screenshot_20170702-073419.png
