I have a samsung galaxy s4 mini, and recently installed an SD card. I plugged into a Windows 10 PC, and the phone was detected okay and ws displayed in Windows explorer, showing both the "Phone" and "SD Card" directories.
I dragged the files from the phone gallery (DCIM\Camera) to the same folder on the SD card, stupidly holding shift to move the files rather than copy. Windows appeared to transfer them (but too quickly to be actually moving them to the card), but when I checked the files had disappeared from the phone gallery folder but were not in the SD card folder.
I have tried scanning with both on-phone(DiskDigger) and PCbased (Wondershare Dr Fone) recovery software but neither can find the missing photos.
Any suggestions appreciated - I am not sure what to do here.
