How can I remove the emoji phone app from my LG V30?

The emoji phone app has taken over my phone and I can't get it off. Help! I have an LG V30 android phone. Is this a hack?
It seems people ask often about removing this emoji phone app but I have not seen any resolutions to this on android. HELP!
