Can't view WhatsApp photos on PC

I can view WhatsApp photos normally on my Moto G, they appear in Gallery and using File Explorer but when I connect to my pc using a USB cable and select Internal Storage - WhatsApp - Media it says 'folder empty'. The last time I tried this in July they appeared as normal.

I have thoroughly searched all folders on my phone while connected to my pc and no WhatsApp photos appear but all camera photos appear on my SD card storage as normal, how is this possible?
