Messages syncing to Messenger

Even though my SMS messenger sinker is off on the right top hand corner my messages that I send via my messages app which is my default setting is still syncing and doubling the messages that I'm sending to my messenger app with the SMS being turned off why is it still syncing my messages to Messenger Facebook
