My phone detects the sim card on slot 2 but doesn't let me use it

i just got a new sim card and replaced the micro sd with the sim card, the phone detects the company but it tells me it doesn't have service i tried putting the sim that's on slot 1 in 2 and the same thing happened, i tried the sim in another phone and it works idk what to do
