Zedge updated and my android is now stuck optimizing

Zedge has worked fine for a few years now but as of a week or so ago my android (upon reboot) is stuck optimizing app one of one. I read that you have to do a reset and then I read to clear the cache partition. I did not do any of that. But then I read that you need to DELETE ZEDGE FROM YOUR PHONE AND IT WORKED. Which is sad because I really enjoyed Zedge. Can they fix what ever issue it is? I have a ZMAX PRO Z981.Android Version 6.0.1.
