PC no longer showing all photos in DCIM folder. It once did!

All photos were once seen in the DCIM folder but now only see 30 of 1250! Have followed all the suggestions in this forum invluding download of samsung usb drivers, ensuring PTP connection etc. I think the change occurred after recent phone software update.
