Why am i unable to send messages through my Android phone for the past 1 year?

Why am I unable to send messages through Android phone for the past 1 year..
The sim is working good... easily access calls but no messages can be sent.
There's no memory full with apps and messages stuff.
Please help. . It is showing error while sending messages.
