no notifications showing up on lock screen, droid turbo 2

Last week my Motorola droid turbo 2 version 7.0 stopped showing any notifications on the lock screen. Before it would show any app I had setup to notify me as a waved my hand over the phone to activate display. I have checked and it says all apps are setup for lock screen notifications. I have looked everywhere for a setting that I might have changed but I cannot find anything.
