m running a phone - Samsung S4 vers 5.0.1. I will be changing my service provider and sim card soon.

I assumed my contacts were on my sim card and so I've exported my contacts to "samsung account" ...on of two options available.
Am I on the right path?
If I am when I need to import them to my new sim card where will I find them? ....Device storage is the only option that sounds like it is a "samsung account"?
I'm confused by the different descriptions.

Samsung Note 3 blue led notification light always ON (even when phone is switched OFF)

How is the call quality of the Samsung S8?

Android nougat - apps close on their own.

Recently bought a Nokia 6 with Android nougat. I noticed that when I run any games or other apps, the apps get stuck up and close on their own ( though they remain on n the list of minimised apps) and the phone locks on its own immediately. This time the phone doesn't unlock with fingerprint but requires the 9 point pattern for unlocking. Sometimes I lose my wallpaper too. Thanks in anticipation :)

Galaxy s8 camera turns vertical pics horizontal in Gallery

Why can't the manufactures of samsung smart watches add a feature ??

The smart watches bought from the network providers , nowadays require a separate calling plane with another line and number as explained by an agent. It is very simple for the manufacturer or a carrier to add an automatic call forwarding feature to the cell phone with distance sensor attached to the phone and the smart watch, ' that is, if the smart phone is connected with the cell phone, and if the smart watch travels to a distance of more than certain (for ex. 35 feet) distance, the cell phone should forward all the calls and texts to the smart watch by a feature called " automatic call forwarding " which could be turned on or off by the user. It doesn't need any network settings by the carrier by spending millions of dollars. It will be device feature with a nominal fee as we for an option "call forwarding ', the smart phone may need a secondary sim as like cell phone . This could solve the problem of having extra line and the number like for tablets. Please comment if this possible.

Help! media sound missing completely! Samsung galaxy s8 (SM-G950F)

Hey everyone! I am new here and not really experienced, that's why i really need your help with the following:

I've rooted my device with TWRP & Magisk
Everything went smooth without any problems.
After that I tried to install Viper4android and that's where the trouble starts.

Now I do have it installed but any media sounds do not work at all on any app with or without headphones.

Rebooting or factory resetting does nothing.
My guess that it's something with audio_effects.conf or soundAlive_51 but can't know for sure.

Please help a desperate soul out

Can't play MP4 on my tablet

I have a Trio AXS 4G tablet running android 4.2.2. I created an MP4 video on my PC and it runs perfectly. I copied it to the tablet's SD card. I have tries 6 different video players and all I get is "can't play this video" or just a black screen. I copied it back to my PC and it again plays perfectly using VLC. I have played copied DVDs on the tablet and it works fine except that I have to watch 1 VOB file at a time. No app that I load on the tablet seems to be able to play MP4s. Any ideas regarding what I'm doing wrong?

Swaped sims for a while and everythings erased.

My mom and i both have straight talk. My mom broke her phone so she asked to use mine. I dont know what she did. But she is like a 3 year old with a phone and breaks every electronic she owns. Why do word doc file name changes while attaching it into gmail app from File manager?

Hi All,

I have been experiencing some unexpected behaviour in my Gmail app from long enough time. When I attach a word document (doc and/or docx) to my Gmail Android app, then the name of that document changes to some number on its own.
My observations so far:
- If I attach some other format files by selecting 'File Manager', lets say pdf, then their names don't change on their own.
- If I attach some doc/docx files from 'Downloads' section (that is the default location that Gmail app opens every time you click 'Attach file', then also the name doesn't get change on its own.

So, lets say I attach a file by selecting it from File Manager -> Documents, then the name will be changed and also the file type (blank/unidentified) and send the mail. Now, when the recipient opens the file, there will be no auto preview. So, the receiver will think that the file is corrupted.

I am not sure why it is happening. I have thoroughly checked my setting one by one, but nothing seems to co-relate to this behaviour.

How do I play music through Bluetooth and play something through my phone speakers at the same time?

Before you say this is impossible, I just want to say this is a feature found on the Galaxy S8 known as "Separate app sound"

What I want to do is be able to play music through a Bluetooth speaker, while being able to output audio through my phone speakers without the Bluetooth audio being interrupted. Like if I'm scrolling through Facebook and I watch a video, I want the Bluetooth audio to keep playing.

My CRAPPY-S7-Active is having a whole bunch of problems!

Hello...First off I have to say that I hate the S7 active. It is very buggy! It's so frustrating! This is like my 3/4 replacement phone, which happened during the first month of me buying it!
Don't get me wrong I love Samsung, I loved the S4 active and the other only reason I got the 7 was because my 4 wouldn't charge up anymore...

OKAY, enough of that rant-onto the problems I'm dealing with now...

ONE··Random Ads pops up on my screen taking up the entire screen and I'm not even on any application. Id be in my files, or my Gallery, heck it even popped up while I was texting in the Messages app that was already on the phone. So wasn't an app I downloaded. It doesn't happen a ton and it recently just started doing that for about a few days or couple, and its random when an ad will pop up ( so this is kinda worry-some )

TWO··I am in the process of transfer my media into my SD card and my USB portable drive..My photos I selected to transfer to my sd or the usb drive, most are copied perfectly fine but then there is quite a bunch that didn't. The ones that didn't are either the thumbnail pictures and when I click on it Grey photo comes up with an '!' and the only option is to delete, and/or some of the photo is there some-of it could be grey or thin colored lines totally ruining the photo. (curious why it does that cause its frustrating when I loss photos of videos that I don't wanna part with are gone especially ones with my Son and my Family.)

THREE··My phone just randomly took a Screen Shot, (& nooo I didn't press the Home and the Power button to take it and nooo I don't use the gesture option)..I was in Snap chat on a message and it takes 2/3 screen shots(2 for sure). What's flipping tripping me out is that at the top of message once the screen shot is taken it showed a brief preview of the photo...the photo was of my pattern used on my phone! So I freak a little and I try to go to go see the screen shots..and those ones AREN'T on my phone to view....

This problem was reason I
searched on the Internet and I came across a few links which connected me to this Android-Central.

also my phone still gets very laggy, very slow, and very hot, very! & it doesn't just happen when it's charging.! I feel like its gotten worse and more frequent.

I'm sure I have my issues with my S7 active but can't think of them all, these are just the most recently, and are major concerns.

My note8 is getting warm very quickly after browsing thru internet and youtube. The cpu temp is around 37 c after 5 mins of using and battery temp is around 38 c . Is this normal? I can feel the heat when it's in my pocket. Room temp is around 28 c

Why do my emoji groupings/categories keep changing every so often?

So today my emoji categories completely changed, which now means it's taking 5-10 times longer to type a message to someone when using emojis. I now have to search through all the sub-categories to find the same emojis I had previously memorized as they were located in their previous categories/groupings/tabs.

This emoji re-arrangement happened after an OS update to Nougat about a year ago, but this time I did not update my OS, and double-checked my settings to make sure that no system updates have been mysteriously installed. (still on Nougat, and I will not be updating to Oreo as each OS update basically halves the speed of my phone - LG G5). I had finally found and memorized the categorical locations of all my favourite emojis, and was flabbergasted today to discover they have all been switched around...... again.

I checked recently updated apps, and the only potential culprit that has been updated in the last 24 hours is Switkey keyboard, but searches of their site says that they use the Android OS emojis, so I'm unsure if that could be the cause.

I have searched multiple terms/wording and multiple sites for an answer, but cannot seem to locate any examples of anyone else who is displeased by this periodic re-arrangement of emojis.

Does anyone know how to change this back, or at least shed some light on how and why this happens? I know that Google wants to get rid of the blob, but do they not know how frustrating and a massive time waste it is for their users to change the categorical placement of emojis every 6-12 months! I know basic threats mean nothing, but with the release of the latest iPhone, it is seriously making me consider switching back to Apple.

Lg g4 imei.info says its AT&T 810 but software settings and behind battery cover its 815 model?

Dear members admins plz guide me in this situation that my phone lg g4 software and behind battery cover its model shows up as h815 but imei info reads it as AT&T 810 I have heating & battery drain issues as well lte band 1800-3 in my country its not picking even though h815 specs shows that band is supported and whenever I try to update to MM instead of rom update apps update menu pops up.
My question is how can I update it to marshmallow 6... should I use flash tools or lg up and should I use AT&T 810 stock rom or 815 and should I while updating completely wipe and format option or just update option ?

Moto Z Play vs. higher priced phones: What do you sacrifice?

I'm trying to decide on a replacement for my unlocked Moto G phone, which was my first cell phone. I'm not a heavy user of the phone, but I do need more storage for music and maps (I have 16 GB on the Moto G, and it's unexpandable), and want additional sensors so that I can run the Skyview astronomy app. I can afford to splurge on a higher-end phone like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or the Google Pixel, but I think the Moto Z Play, at about half the price of those phones, will be good enough for me (I've read reviews on all of them). My question is, besides camera quality, what of significance (in your opinion) would I be missing out on by going with the Moto Z?

Samsung Galaxy S7 - screen/icon grid issue

The date and time applications on the application screen and the icons of the other applications stand on different lines in the horizontal sequence. When I looked carefully I noticed that the date and time applications are on the right line and all the other icons are slightly below them. It happens from time to time and it also heals spontaneously. When this problem occurs, the application names appear to be larger than one point in size. I would really appreciate if you could help me.

Possible Software update hack?

Hi all,

Leading up to this point there have been some very big red flags that there has been interest on my phone by a 3rd party.

Without getting into details I believe I am being targeted by a potential hacker.

After a bunch of sketchy things happening on my phone, I turned it off. An hour later I turned it on.

I got a software update notification. Normally I update it no prob but due to the earlier incidences I was suspicious.

I called HTC and AT&T and they said that the most current software version for HTC 10 is 2.51.617.11 which is my current one.

Nobody could explain why I was getting a software update for version 2.51.617.21 (titled "September Security update" ) that didn't exist in their system.

I tried googling the version number and got nothing. No rep could tell me if this was a future update being pre-downloaded. They said that they have not heard of anything like that.

My hope is that they didn't know what they were talking about and somebody here could clear this problem up?

Does anybody have a legit explanation on what is going on here?

Device: DragonTouch x10 running Android 5.1.1, Problem: Playing videos in JW Library app

Normally videos played in this app will either stop at the end of the video or play a succession of videos depending on which screen the video is selected from. On this device (which early on had worked properly) when a video is selected it will open the player (which I assume is an embedded player in the app(?)), the title of the video selected will appear and then immediately will jump to the next video in the sequence, or if there is none will just stop and/or say the app has stopped. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and videos as well as reset the tablet.

Videos will play (one at a time) properly using the video player that came installed on the tablet but this is not convenient.

The Lookout app is notifying me that the tablet has been rooted (which I did not do, at least intentionally) and I noticed that the device serial number is all zeros. Not sure if this is related to the video problem. Thanks for any help!

Why can't i use gifs in messenger since i had to reset my phone?

recently I had to do a reset on my phone due to my daughter messing up my my pattern lock password on my screen and i could not get into my phone so I had to do a factory reset. And now I cannot use gifs on messenger or anything else, and I could use it before. What do I need to do to be able to use gifs now on messenger. When I try, all it shows is the " circle" indicating that it is "warming up", or " downloading ". It shows that it is almost about to work. If i click on one that isn't showing a pic or vid, it will send to the person even tho i have not previewed it. I don'tknow why I can not use it now as I had no issues before the reset. Thank u in advance for your tips. If it's not fixed soon, I will uninstall any gifs that have been installed and I will rid my phone of messenger. These take a lot of space and if not functioning properly I'd much rather fill my space with " perks " that CAN AND WILL FUNCTION PROPERLY.... I'm tired of the issues that I've had with these "FREE APPS" that tie up all this space on my phone. I'm giving you 24 hours, it's 1:40 eastern time, you have till 1:40 eastern time on Saturday morning to at least offer me some kind of solution to this or I will rid all my apps that have to do with this and I'll rid my .messenger. I have sent many messages to you about other problems, such as slow time, downloading apps that took up space and couldn't use, but still took up space and didn't let me use my prior apps. I don't want to be an ***, but your down loads and apps and such HAVE NOT WORKED FOR ME EVER!! I have had to delete all your apps I've tried to use!! Can you tell if my phone is hacked by looking the app list?

Hi everyone. I have a 4 years old HTC One (M7) and recently my phone is warming like crazy even when it is idle.

Android version 5.0.2
HTC Sense version 6.0
SDK API Level 6.55
not rooted

I get no suspicious sms or calls or whatsoever but one hour ago i got this system notification, something like "this android device has been recovered from an abnormal reset".

I looked it up and saw "your phone may be hacked" response from several websites. And panicked.

Could someone please tell me if there's any malware in the attached list? I typed down every single apps and files as listed on my phone. I can provide screenshots if necessary. If i got hacked, please help me get rid of it. Thanks a lot in advance.

Sideloading error - Any ideas?

Hello all -

So I am trying to update my 6P to the most recent version of OREO and got everything connected via ADB, however, when I enter the following command:

adb sideload angler-ota-opr6.170623.019-d7784575.zip

I get the following error:

no such file or directory

Some additional information - I placed the OTA file in the same folder as the ADB program, I use a 6P that is currently in the beta program running the last beta version and am on the FI network.

My phone got broken by repairman or my bad luck??? so depressed

I dropped my phone couple days ago and yesterday the bottom buttons dont work anymore. I have a motorla Maxx. the buttons are part of the LCD panel and today i took it to repair shop.

They opened it up and now the phone doesnt start - it keeps going from 0% to 50% battery (50% was ~ when i gave to them). When he starts the Droid screen keep going on and off. Even charging cable not working - he says the battery only getting ".1amp".

Then it became like a blame game - he blames me that i dropped it so it is possible that phone can break like this after opening it up. I was more like i didnt expect this to happen.

so now they gonna do a more comprehensive diagnostic with new battery tomorrow and see what happens... he said i can take elsewhere and check too... i have a bunch of stuff didnt back up - am i SOL or experts here think they can fix it?

Galaxy S8 notification bar goes up on it's own!

Every time I pull down the notification bar it goes up on it's own, even when I don't swipe up. Some times it does (and when it does some times it's instantly,as soon as I pull down the notification bar or some times it will stay and then go up on it's own) , some times it doesn't, but most of the time when I'm just trying to check a quick notification it swipes up on it's own. I've reseted my phone many times but I still get the same thing.
Is this just my phone been weird? Or a software thing?

My Galaxy A9 Pro will not connect to Odin

Trying to flash my first ROM. Galaxy A9 Pro in developer mode, USB-debugging, Android 6

The phone will connect to the Windows 10 computer with a "pling"-sound. (No problem with normal USB data transfer)

I first start Odin (tried 3.11.1 and 3.12.3) and then connect phone. (No problem setting download mode on phone.) The phone connects with a "pling", but never shows up in Odin. Tried all 3 USB ports and 3 different cables.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 cellular and my girlfriend bought me a Samsung Gear 360 camera. I miss apps that are in the settings > apps

Hello everybody.

Another one of those who changed from iPhone to Android, and happy about it!
But I've noticed that apps are a different story in Android language than in Apple language. It seems that inside my settings > apps, there's many more apps, than are visible on my homescreen.

So anyway, for an example - I've used Samsungs (yes I have an S8) "Link Share" app, to share videos and photos through text messaging. And after a couple of uses, it comes up and asks me if I want to add a Shortcut to it, to my home screen. I feel like this is a one time yes or no I have to answer here, if I won't get the notification again, since I really can't figure out, how to make the shortcut my self?

Isn't there a way to create shortcuts to some of the i assume "background apps?" that are also shown in the "Settings > Apps" section?

My bottom buttons (home,return "windows") no longer respond on my maxx

I have DROID MAXX 4.4.4 and yesterday for whatever reason my home button and other buttons next to it dont work anymore. I tried restarting, shutting off for a day but still no go.
I did notice that after i press it repeatedly, a few minutes later the phone "jerks" like buttons were pressed...

Any recommendations? in the meantime i downloaded an app to serve as "home button" but not as efficient.

How to say some punctuation

For some reason - new Oneplus 5 didn't have a keyboard. Tried to SAY an email addy and got stuck at the @ sign. Just for grins, tried saying ampersand, and it didn't get that either. Didn't believe Google could be that dumb. I wasn't able to log into Play.

I finally did a reset, and then got the keyboard. Promptly got Super and Smart Keyboards from Play (Both paid versions) and disabled Google's keyboard.

Note4 room error

Okay so I did a factory reset on my note 4 to try and fix battery problems. After installing all my stuff again Ive noticed I get an error after an app installs. It says "not enough room on any page" when there is plenty of room on my homepage for the app to be placed. It does place the new app on my home screen but it's constantly giving me this error. Phone charging over USB on AC charger

When I try and charge my phone over ac adapter it says it charges over USB

It switches back and forth, but for the most part it charges over USB even though I'm using an AC adapter

It is not the cable or adapter because I've tried multiple ones

I went and got a new charger and it was working fine charging over AC and at a high output, now it is back to over USB and charging slow again.

Is my charging port on my phone eating up chargers because it is faulty?

The phone does charge but at low amp. Its not exactly loose, does wiggle a bit but I don't have to hold it in weird positions

I could get a new USB port soldered but I don't want to waste money if it is another issue?

Can't Group text on Android 5.1.1

I recently got a refurbished LG Premier LTE. My service is tracphone. I was added to a group text by some friends, but all of the messages from the group text come in as separate messages from each individual sender. LG G5 suddenly wont play any videos, music, or doesnt have sound on ANYTHING

This literally happened within a matter of minutes. I was listening to music on my earphones one minute, then i unplugged to listen to something on my laptop, 2 min later when i plugged my earphones back into my phone to play a video on youtube, a message would pop up saying "play id error". My phone out of no where doesnt allow me to play any videos on ANY platform or app, including ones i recorded on the phones camera. It wont play any sound or music, in fact it seems as though it has corrupted my music files and now shows a message saying "file not supported". It also has NO SOUND what so ever. No ring tone, media, notifications, calls. anything related to sound, i dont hear it. Reboot doesnt work, icleared any cache from some apps to see if it will resolve the problem and nothing.

I want Pandora to keep playing when my Gear s3 is out of range

I'm playing music on my phone and every time I walk away out of Bluetooth range with my Gear s3, my Note 8 stops playing music. I've searched through all the settings I can think of but the only solution I've found is to disconnect Bluetooth myself and id rather keep it on so I can still control playback from my watch when I walk back into the room. Stock installed weather widget disappeared

Stock installed weather widget disappeared when I was scrolling thru cities and now I cannot find it. Using OK Google on earbuds

Hey Droids!

So I have the Galaxy S8, I have set up voice for Google (because Bixby is kind of meh) and it works great.
However, I want to know if there is a way to activate voice while the phone is locked on earbuds? Like on iPhone if you hold down the action button Siri pops up, can we do the same? I have the AKG earbuds that the phone is shipped with, but when I hold the action button down when the phone is locked nothing happens. When it is unlocked it pops up fine, but what is the point in that?

I want to be able to use voice while I am using earbuds, walking around and tell my phone to call my mum without needing to unlock my phone for goodness sake! There must be a way!

I followed some instructions online at a youtube link to clear cache and clear data to solve the problem.

However, I realised that my SMS had all disappeared.

May I know how to restore them? I have important SMSes stored.

My "HTC Home Sense has stopped" had happened before and when SMS were previously in tact when I cleared cache/data. So I believe my SMS were backed up somewhere. But just that this time round, I can't locate and no records found.

Gallery Image & Switch Off

Hi
I opened my gallery on my Samsung J3 and the images were all grey with a caution sign on them, they would even open like that.. turned it off then on and they came back but did the same thing today and it is only showed half the image, the rest was grey.. please help!

Also my phone just randomelt switches off out of nowhere too !!

Multiple phones same time content download over USB

Hi Guys!

Looking for software which allows to download video content from multiple phones (50 and more) connected to single PC over USB.
There are some hardware solutions, which allow to connect such amounts of phones to single PC, but unfortunately can't find ready software solutions, which can process so big amount of phones simultaneously.

I anybody has experience of syncing 50 and more phones from single PC over USB, please advise working solution.

Keyboard nightmare..

Can I automatically forget a wireless network?

I am setting up a multi-user tablet. Each user has his own login to our wireless network. I would like to be able to forget the existing wireless connection each time the tablet is switched off so the next user is forced to log in with his own user name and password. Is this possible?

Unable to view all emails - Samsung galaxy s5

Hi, Im having problems viewing my emails. I lost all my emails on my laptop and was informed by my domain I had downloaded them to my phone.

When using the email app, I see 133 emails, but am only able to view 30. It offers me the option to flick up to load more emails and shows 133 are there, but will not load them.

I have tried settings/account/sync settings and only have 3 options available, namely sync Email (check) sync schedule and limit retrieval size.

I was hoping there was an option for sync period, but I can't seem to see the option anywhere.

I need to view some of these emails urgently, please Help!!!!!

I'm having problems with my Pandora cutting in and out and just shutting off completely.

I have a small round JBL speaker. Instead of using Bluetooth I just connect the cord that came with the speaker into my headphones. jack. I have an android and it's particularly a pain in the butt to get out of what I'm currently in to restart my Pandora. I've read about some others response and it sounds exactly what I'm going through with the music pausing and stopping. The people who have this problem and they all use Bluetooth. It doesn't matter that I don't use Bluetooth versus the people that do because we're all having the same problem. If anybody figures this out let me know I would be very happy to get this fixed!!🌺🌸🌈🌞

Loading an offline .HTML file saved from my computer

So I downloaded a web page that I would like to browse offline. It has java in it and lots of images, etc. I copied it all over to my SD card and in theory when I open the page up it should load the offline version of the web page (It works on my windows phone). But on Android it's refusing to load any of the java script stuff.. and also it's taking me to content://0@media/external/file/1234 . That seems like an odd filepath. It should just be D://folder//webpage.html but I have no idea how to make it work like that.

How do I turn off the pop up notifications on the note 8?

I'm looking for a way to shut off ALL pop up notifications on the note 8. I was able to do this on my note 4, but cannot remember the setting it was under. Envizen EVT10Q has worked for 8 months now it says no service.

It came with a T-mobile sim card. Is the sim card only good for so long and needs to be replaced every so often.

I can't get may mobile data to work

I have a Blu Vivo 5r and I can't get my mobile data to work. Despite having it activated not only does it not work (as all apps requiring internet access show me), but it doesn't even show the (2G/3G/4G/...) next to the signal marker, as shown in the screenshot attached. I tried activating data roaming, choosing different options after searching for network operators, and directly inputting the APN data from my mobile provider (Vodafone romania). Also I read that in the APN section should be more options but I only have one. I need network access in my day to day life so any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

How to disable phone from talking when I use the Google Search Bar

I have looked for this answer on these forums, and followed some instructions I found.

I navigated to app settings manager, and disabled "Talk Back"

It's still talking.

Reset my phone.

It's still talking.

Now the "Talk Back" Icon is not there anymore so I cannot go back and see if there was something else I needed to do.

Please help.

serious issue with receiving texts

Ive had an issue where i do not receive text messages from many people, this issue is random and inconsistent, if a friend texts me 10 messages i usually would get 8/10. This has been a big problem as ive missed important messages from co-workers and my boss.

Ive contacted my provider (rogers) and they insisted my messages were sent on their end after i specified the time and date of the not received messages.

The problem must be one of two things:
1. My messaging app which is "android messages" by google
2. My S7

Would really appreciate some help this issue has been somewhat recent in the past week or so.

One oval circle split in two in notification bar

Have you ever seen this icon in the notification bar - an oval circle that is split in two halves? How do I remove this as it is not an option to de-activate or remove - only time it goes away is when i switch off the mobile data. I have a samsung galaxy s7 phone on android 7.0

Beats solo 3 bluetooth volume low

Galaxy note 8 S pen and Google docs

Whenever I edit Google docs with the s pen the cursor goes to random spots on the document when I am hovering back and forth from the keyboard. My s pen doesn't make contact with the screen and it still causes the cursor to move. Does anyone else have this problem and how can it be fixed?

My z force will always default to h+ instead of lte, if I force it with an app like radio switcher it will get lte. I carry an att phone for work and always have lte on it. Rarely on my z. I cannot view or add APNs. My wife's phone does not do this and it is a Moto z but not force ( both model xt1650). I called cricket support and she said my phone is not compatible with cricket. Lol since it calls, texts, and surfs internet fine. Just can't get it to primarily choose lte.

Phone w/guest profile mode?

I am looking for a good way to allow my child a smartphone but be able to block all the apps except the ones I allow. We had an old LG3 which had a built in guest mode which did that. Sadly it died and I can't seem to find anything which allows that kind of functionality. I would rather it be android for the sake of interacting with filtering, but maybe it doesn't have to be.

Why does Samsung show only Head SAR value?

When many well known mobile companies are showing the SAR (radiation) values for Head & Body both, Samsung is surprisingly showing only Head SAR values. Why is that so? In many cases I have found that Body SAR value is higher than Head SAR value. In that case, not reporting Body SAR value by Samsung does not give a good message to people who are concerned about the radiation levels.

My signal all the sudden drops

Sometimes it Fast Charges...sometimes not...

Using both the original and "just WIRELESS" fast chargers. It's the female with prongs that determines Fast Charging....as I have had problems with the original cord and others. Fast Charging is set to ON.

Does anyone have a color problem with their selfi camera on the Galaxy s7?

Hi everyone. I hope someone may be able to help me. For some reason my selfie cam has a pink halo and splotch effect going on. I've looked everywhere for the same problem but I either missed the question or no one has this problem. When you take a selfie the pic will have a pink splotch on the forehead that bleeds down almost like fingers and they will be in the corners of the pics too. Galaxy S5 does not download Google Maps apps' offline maps. PLEASE HELP!

Followed the steps exactly as written below(vvv) in an earlier post, unfortunately it does not solve my problem today. The phone is online on LTE and WiFi, everything else works, but this.
The device (SG-S5; Android v6.0.1) has been completely reset twice, updated only Google: -drive, -maps, -playstore, and the offline map's downloads reach 4% at the first try, and then hangs there at 4% forever. The error message is: Couldn't download.
If I delete the unfinished download and then retry, the downloads do not even leave 0%. I tried everything that I could research online, but this offline map function just does not work. Please let me know how to fix this. Thanks!

Video problems

My Note 3 has developed problems playing and recording videos. Some months ago it stopped playing videos on Youtube, or recording videos using the camera. I tried every possible solution found on the Web without sucess. I rebooted to the factory condition several times. After some months of not using it I find that it will boot up and play and record video about 50% of the time. If it won't play after I boot up, I restart and it will usually play and record. Hardware or software problem?

Formatted new sd card big mistake!

I inserted my new 128gb SD card into my LG Stylo phone which had been using a 64GB SD card with no problem. Unfortunately I opted to format the new card and now I cannot transfer my apps to the SD card as it says there is not enough memory. Nexus 5 won't turn on or charge, no bootloop

I've had my Nexus 5 since it was released in 2013. About two years ago I started getting a dreaded bootloop and determined it was the power switch failing. I had the power switch replaced and all my problems went away.

About 6 months ago I started seeing the symptoms of a failing power switch. Random reboots which would go into a bootloop which I could stop by smacking my phone or cleaning it with video cleaner.

But then I that was getting less effective so I finally had the power switch replaced again. I have tested the switch itself, and it does close the circuit when pressed. But I am still unable to turn on my phone. When its plugged in I dont see the charging battery icon either.

But if I let it sit for a while, and hold down on the power button occassionally it will turn on and I will see the google logo, but then it shuts down. I can also hold down power+vol down and somtimes turn on in recovery mode before the phone turns off.

I can only seem to keep the phone on for 1-4 seconds before it turns off.

I'm assuming that there must be some hardware damage somewhere. Perhaps its thermal related? I havent tried freezing or heating the logicboard yet, but am now considering that. I need to boot it up long enough to transfer a couple files.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might try?

Bluetooth problem

The Bluetooth on my ZTE max dou will connect most every time to everything and start playing as well until it gets done with like 2-3 song I could be right in the middle of another song and it would just cut out.if I leave the Bluetooth turned on while it's cutting in and out it will just cut it off completely for like an hour or two and just restart but it'll still be all choppy. And during all this my bluetooth says that it still connected to the speaker

Google Photos Label name doesn't show in Android devices

I use Google Photos on my desktop (Windows 10), Nexus 6P and Pixel C. When I assign a label (AKA album) to a photo, that label appears in a photo's Info field when I'm in Google Photos on the desktop but it does NOT appear on either Android device. I am not saying the photos don't go into the album that I assigned it to, I'm saying that the Info field does not indicate a label/album name when I'm viewing photos. That means I cannot tell if the photos have been assigned to a label/album.
Can anyone explain this to me, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? TIA

49 days Google service notification

Hi,
Since 49 days ago :( when I reboot or turned on my Keyone, I received the notification from the google service asking if I have a new phone number... obviously not....
I updated the number on the security section (same number), received the sms code, removed and added back the keyone from google, deinstalled some applications and so on....
I also have other 2 Android phones and other 2 BB10 phones with the same google account, and none of the have any weird notification like the keyone

I can't figure out where the problem comes from and how to resolved it...

Best Stock Android Phones

I'm upgrading next year, I usually keep my phone for 2 years so I really want a phone with pure, stock android to ensure lighting performance over the period... Could you gimme a rundown of the best phones which run stock or NEAR stock android please, preferably released from this year as I'll be able to but them at a lower price next March. Btw the Pixel 2 phone will be too expensive do they're ruled out haha.

Texts appear to have been sent but have not. And the reverse.

I have had people tell me they didn't get my text, when it looks to me like the text was sent. I've tested it right in front of such a person. Also, I've had people call me and ask why I didn't respond to a text. They see it on their phone as sent, but I didn't get it.

This seems to happen only with people who have iphones but I'm not positive because now I'm questioning just how many of my texts haven't been received. And it doesn't happen with ALL people who have iphones. I have a Samsung.

Intex aqua power plus bootloop

Hey, A few days ago I was trying to download an app from play store but it said "your device is not compatible". So I googled and found a solution for it and I renamed the "build.prop" file to "xbuild.prop" and accidentally restarted my phone. Now it's stuck on bootloop and I'm trying to get a solution for that. I wonder if you could help me with it.

Need guideline for automating Android OS Updates

Greeting,

Say I'm a device manufacturer, and would like to release my own updates for the Android OS that runs on the devices I make. What does it take for the devices to install the updates automatically, suppose the devices are capable of downloading the update packages from my server?

Could you please share your guidance and experience on this kind of service or infrastructure needed in the devices? So far I found some server side clues (for example http://ift.tt/2wOM6tQ). I'm still looking for client/device side implementation.

Gear Fit 2 Missing Parts of Run

Recently, my Gear Fit has suddenly stopped recording part of the first kilometre of my runs. I run at about 4:30 per km but recently my GF has started recording that I complete the first km in somewhere between 5:45 and 7:30; thereafter it then seems to record distances correctly for the rest of the run; the S Health app shows the route correctly, but records a speed of zero for period of time, meaning that having completed somewhere around 6.5km, only 5.7km (for example) is recorded as completed. This only seems to have started happening in the last few weeks.

Any ideas on what is wrong and how to correct it?

Using Android tablet and phone to remotely play movies in a car

I want to be able to use an Android phone to control an Android tablet (without reliance on wifi/date so I'm guessing over bluetooth)

We want to have a tablet mounted on the passenger headrest in the car for long trips so it is out of reach of our child.

We are looking for a way to control the tablet from the front of the car so we can play new movies/shows. We currently have to pull over, get out and jump in the back seat in order to select a new movie/show.

Is this possible?

I realise there are controllers from brands like Satechi (in effect BT keyboards) but we will want it to work with Android apps which I don't think these do.

Images from email will not save

On my Samsung tab 3, when trying to save or preview photos from an email, it tries to print to a pdf, there is no option to save as a jpeg. It used to be fine and save straight to the gallery.

Disabling printers does not work, and I can't find how to change the default save as/preview format for images. Photos taken from the camera still behave normally.

I am using my Motorola Moto G 4G LTE to determine locations of various objects of interest for Family history purposes.

1 st Question: Is the GPS Status App (free version) appropriate for this? I have also tried the Maps Coordinates App, but I believe it gives less accurate results (I have taken observations of known survey marks with both Apps)



2nd Q: If it is an appropriate App, I am getting a GPS unavailable message during some of my measurement sessions. I usually have background data restricted on my phone, but switching that on does not seem to remove that message.

Is there a limit to how many observations you can take in a session with the free version, or is this message due to some other cause?

At the same time as I see this message, it seems to experience problems getting reasonable fixes, ie instead of quickly reaching a 3 metre error fix, maybe using 14 of 22 visible satellites, it suddenly can't do better than 9 m error.
