ATT Note Edge Booting Issue
Hello All,
I need some help to bring back my phone to life. I have a Samsung Note edge (ATT), and i have had it for ~ 3 years. About a month ago the phone shut down and never turns on and get stuck on Samsung logo. After going through several phone calls to Samsung and visiting Best buy for Samsung support, i have not made any progress. I have gone through lot of online posts and videos but still I am not sure how to revive my phone WITHOUT LOSING photos and other information. Presently the phone is set in downloading mode and its SM-915A. I read about Odin flashing but I did not find a clear process. Which version of ODIN should I download, I am located in USA. i cannot start the phone, so whatever i needs to do I have to do externally may be through a PC. Any feedback is much appreciated. How can I fix an sd card bug on SGS4?

My phone has had strange external storage problems. I got this phone a day ago as a mess around device, first thing I did was factory reset so I know everythings default and working. But since using this phone, the sd appears to randomly connect and eject itself, once a day. But today while I was doing some app moving, it stopped responding, and began to pulse very rapidly. Before the notification "unexpected sd card removal" can go away, another shows saying "scanning sd for problems" and keeps repeating.
I tried turning it off and back on, tried clearing cache in the boot menu, tried taking it apart, cleaning it, and reattaching the circuit piece, all to no avail. I cant format it cause it wont stay connected long enough to let me.

S3 samsung gear Watch will not charge or turn on

Outlook Contacts & iTunes syncing
I just upgraded from an HTC One M8 to a Samsung Note 8. Although HTC Sync Manager was mostly a pos it did at least give me the functionality I needed in a single application.
Having researched the existence of a universal syncing app for the Note 8, I came up empty!
For 'syncing' Contacts I am currently exporting from Outlook to a .csv file then importing to Gmail contacts. This is clunky and not what I would actually term 'syncing'
For syncing Music I am using the pro version (paid) iSyncr. (A great app but only for iTunes media)
I can't believe that there isn't a single app that will do what I need and I suspect I'm just not well informed. Can anybody point me to an app that will achieve my requirement? Thank you!

Showing SD card is not inserted in my Moto e2

Phone is carbon copying me on text messages
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. On some text messages, it recently started showing them as a group message and includes my phone number.
A couple examples:
1. Today I received a text message from someone for the first time. It shows as a group message and has my phone number listed
2. I text back and forth with my daughter regularly. It's actually created more than one 'thread'. One shows her name and "Me", the other shows her name and my phone number. Today it put her responses in one thread and mine in the other.
Not sure what else I can include but any suggestions on how to fix would be greatly appreciated

S8 Left earphone becomes quiet sfter use
It has happend to 3 pairs of earphones now (one pair was bluetooth) the left earbud becomes quiet and the more use of earphones the more apparent the problem is.
This is also permanent to the earphones as testing it with other devices the earbud difference is still apparent.
I have had this problem only with my S8.

SD card won't format? NEED HELP
I have 32 gb class 10 micro sd card which I used for Link2sd(btw I don't know if my phone had init.d support if that is important). For the first month everything worked fine but after that Link2sd started crashing and giving error and one day my phone suddenly rebooted( I also had exposed installed) after which Link2sd couldn't recognize the second partition of my SD card. So using an adapter I plugged it into the computer to format and repartition it but no matter how times I format or wipe or do anything it just wont happen like after a format, for a split second it shows that the card is formatted and unallocated and then it after that fraction of a second the page would refresh and WALA everything would just return to the used state like nothing happened. Moreover the files would be there as well AND the partitions LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED!!!
I wanna save this card somehow, it was expensive. Now iam completely clueless therefore iam at the mercy of whoever is reading this and knows how to fix it. PLZ HELP

Note 8 pause/stop charging at 96% !!!???
My Note 8 is having a problem with charging. It stops charging at 96%. When the battery reaches 96%, the red/orange led indicating the charging is off. I check the battery setting and still see the thunderbolt symbol and the "charger connected" text.
I have to unplug and replug the charger and let the screen on to make the phone fully charge (100%) but the led notification is not green. Usually, for my old Samsung phone, the led will turn green when the battery is full.
Does anyone have experience with this problem?

My phone wont turn on.

Random unknown music playing and wont stop?

Pixel 2 XL How do I get back to setup (for transfer of data etc)
I took delivery of my Pixel 2 XL yesterday (love it) but during the setup when it was connected to my old phone (galaxy S6) my old phone encountered the 'black screen of death and I had to cancel the setup at that point. I have a google account so no problems with gmail, google photos calendar etc.... just phone logs, messages etc that need to be transferred.

Pixel 1 Return Policy Question
I've been having issues w/ my Pixel randomly shutting off for about two months now (since Oreo update came out). It has gotten progressively worse over time. When I posted on the Google forum, it was suggested that the issue is with the OS, and I should contact Google support to possibly get a repair or exchange. That would be great, but I'm fearful that they won't take the phone back, as the back plastic is shattered. I never dropped the phone. It shattered while in my pocket, either hit the seat belt or door. Regardless, it is shattered and the fingerprint scanner has not worked since. Should I try to get a replacement with it as is (shattered/non-functioning fingerprint scanner), or should I repair the back plastic/fingerprint scanner prior to seeking a repair/replacement? If anybody has experience w/ the requirements for returns like this, I would really appreciate your input. Thanks in advance!

Can't find "Samsung Themes" app on new phone
I got a replacement phone today, a Samsung Galaxy S8+, after cracking the screen on my previous one. I can't find the "Samsung Themes" app anywhere, nor is it available for download from the Play Store. I know it's on my phone because I can find it in Settings under the Apps menu, but there's no option to launch it or move it to my Home screen.
On the phone I broke, it was in the Apps, in the Samsung folder, but it's not there, nor is it in any of the other defaults folders or the list of apps. I use this app to change my themes a LOT, and I really want to be able to find it, but i'm stumped!

Problems running apps: Samsung Galaxy Express 3
I have a low end Samsung Galaxy Express 3 (AT&T) it has
1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8 gigs of internal and a 32 gig SD card.
Currently I am using 7.2 gig of the 8 gig of internal storage.
I have moved everything that can be moved to the SD card.
Currently I cannot launch the Gallery app without again removing more apps.
Here is the question:
I am looking at a LG - X Venture 4G LTE with 32GB internal and 2 gig of RAM
Am I correct in assuming the 32 gig in the Venture will allow me 3 times the capacity for running apps than the 8 gig in the Express 3?
Is 2 gig up RAM adequate?
Phone shopping is bending my brain! Any help appreciated.

Force Stop Google Play Services
I have a phone that is very limited on storage space. I would like to delete Google Play services, but doing so causes problems for the "playstore" and a few other apps. It does not "force stop" either. Is there a way to do away with app and still use other apps associated with it. Is not being able to "force stop" the play services app just Google being heavy-handed? (running Kk 4.4.) Also, cannot force stop TouchPal app (it's been my experience that any keyboard app will not "force stop")

While at home when I want to cast to TV, the app asks which of 2 Chromecasts I want to cast to. Select. Click. Easy.
I've read threads from people asking whether you have to go through a setup process when you take your Chromecast to another network. (You do, every time you go there and back to your home network.)
I'd like to put a NEW Chromecast in my mother's house on another network. I will have to set it up and tell the app about the new Chromecast and the new network.
When I go back home to my original two Chromecasts will have face any re-setup issues?

Help with large-scale Android rollout
I work for a business that will be giving several hundred employees android devices soon. These will be for a very specific task so the phones will not have to a data or voicemail plan. Here are some issues I need help with.
I understand that I will have to to set up a Google account on these phones for them to get app updates, can I put their same account on all of them phones? Is there a limit on how many people phones can all have the same same account?
Is there a way to lock out almost all everything except the use of a few specific apps and allow users to select wifi nodes? Applock would allow me to lock settings, but I if I do that they cant choose to wifi... If I don't lock settings then Applock can be uninstalled.
Is there a better way to manage these devices that would be free or very cost effective?
Anyone able to offer advice would beads greatly appreciated.

Teclast T10 - Flip Cover: Screen On/Off Control
Hi,
I have a Teclast T10 with the Slim-Fit Folio Case Cover with Back Case.
I have a problem with this cover since the beginning.
I'm just writing now, because I search everywhere, but I can't solve the issue. Normally, when I close the cover the tablet should suspend, or block, but no it stays on. So the front camera don't block the tablet.
But when I want to use the tablet and I fold the cover to the back, the tablet suspend or block. So it is the back camera that is blocking the tablet.
There is any solution for this?

Why did my palm swipe suddenly stop working 😂
Has this s7edge since March 17. I love the palm swipe feature. Not only did it stop working but even using the on/off and home button take multiple times to work? I have tried resetting a few times and -palm capture IS on. It's not that I don't know how to do the swipe...I've never had a problem before. Help?

Wifi connection problems on Samsung Galaxy A3 2017
Hi,
My problem is the following: lately my phone won't load certain webpages& Pinterest, and won't send photos via Viber when I am using wifi connection. It works perfectly with 4G, but with wifi it simply doesn't. My husband has no problem with any of the above on his LG. Any suggestions? (The phone was bought 3 months ago and worked without a problem with the same connection for 2 months)

Hello,
I bought my phone on Ebay, but it looks like it's an Iranian version and because of that the date shows in Arabic. For example 31 October (Aban 9). I would like to change that and need some advice on how to do this.
I know that I can use software called Odin to flash the phone, but which firmware version should I download? Should I download the UK version?
Also the phone has dual SIM card capability so I would like to make sure that this functionality will remain unaffected by any changes. Can someone help me please?

Why does "imonitor" show up in app usage, when I don't have the app installed?
I have been Googling this weirdness I discovered in my Android when trying to work out why fake virus warnings keep popping up daily when using Chrome.
Ended up checking out my App usage, and discovered something called imonitor taking up 21 MB of memory. Checked out my app list, and nothing called imonitor is there. Googling led me to the apparent imonitor app homepage, where there were uninstallation instructions: "Open APP Manager on the mobile Phone, find and uninstall the APP named "ainfo", it will be uninstalled completely." In my App list there is nothing called "ainfo", even with system processes shown.
Apparently imonitor is a phone spying app. I have never installed anything like that, cannot find where the actual app is and therefore cannot seem to get rid of it. Anybody have any advice?

Text Messages Do Not Show up in Messages, Only in Contact List (Android 7)
Hello,
I have a Moto G5 Plus running on AT&T. I recently discovered something that I can't figure relating to messaging. Our power company has a text line for communicating outages during storms. It worked well on my old iPhone 4s, however, I can't get the messages to show up in the Messages App on my Android device. I can text the utility and they respond to me, but the messages don't go into the Messages app. I can only access their messages if I go to the number stored in my Contact List.
Any thoughts? I've deleted the contact and added it. Restarted my phone. Checked the date. etc. Nothing seems to help.

LG G6 plus.Messaging notification or pop up do not work.
Under Setting no matter how I set the notification switch it shows "silnced".
Under the Messaging setting it all look O.K. but no sound on receiving a Message.

Rear Camera glass broke. Should I replace the camera as well?
I own a Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro. The Indian version. I kept my keys with my Mobile phone and the rear Camera glass broke. It came out as pieces and now the lens looks blurred without the Glass. I took it to a Samsung Service centre and the Service person told me to Replace the entire back panel along with the camera as the pictures come out blurred. I would like to know if I should replace both the camera and the back panel because it costs half the price of the mobile phone together. Or does the camera picture looks blurred because there's no glass for the view of the camera to have a proper focus on? Thank you so much in Advance.

How to stop seeing coworkers calendars on my phone?
I couldn't figure out the right words to google this, so here goes.
I recently started a new job. We all have office 365 emails. In order to book meetings with each other we share viewing access to each others calendars. This works fine online. But I also have a samsung android phone where i am only interested in seeing my own meetings and private engagements so i show up and have an overview of my day.
Problem: ALL calendars that i have received access to are shown in the calendar app (the one that came with android) as my calendar, under my work email. Not seperate ones. In this case in pink, so my calendar looks like i am booked solid with things i dont need to attend. When viewing the calendar on desktop or online they are separated.
What have i accidentally turned on?

Free Space not clearing up
Hi there. I have a Storm STK 2E, Not the greatest but a usable phone until I can replace my Samsung that died.
Recently I got the warning of running out of space, so I did the usual of checking what apps I don't use anymore, Deleting Pictures, Clearing Cache, and so forth. But now none of that would release any of the free space.
I've now Uninstalled about 80% of the apps, deleted all Music, Pictures, and downloads, cleared the cache of all remaining apps, deleted 90% of sms' and wiped the cache partition but it still showing me as out of space.
Looking at the storage in the phone settings shows 7.8GB (Plugged into a computer shows 5,.5, but I assume the remainder is the Android OS partition ?) with Apps using about 4.5Gb of it, after uninstalling tonnes of apps as mentioned above that number doesn't change. in fact I've gone through the list of all apps, and added their used space together I don't even get 1gb of used space.
I have checked there is no LOST.dir folder, and have deleted the thumbnail cache. No matter how much I remove from the phone it believes there are 0MB free space, and the space usage shown by apps / media / etc doesn't change.
Obviously I cant install any new apps, and very occasionally already installed apps will open like they are freshly installed and re run through the setup wizard. Also if I add any shortcuts to the home screen they reset back to how it was after a few hours.
Anyone have any other suggestions before doing a system reset ?

Is there a way to set the default ringtone on an LG G6 to silent?
I'm trying to set my phone up so all my contact groups have a personalised ringtone, and any callers not in my contacts will always be silent. I don't want to use priority mode as I have that set for a very small subsection of contacts already. Galaxy s5 can't get internet outside house WiFi.

How do I restore a backup from Allo?
I have recently moved to a new phone (went from Pixel XL to Pixel 2 XL) and want to transfer my Allo conversations but don't know how.
I can successfully backup the chats from my old phone to Google Drive (or at least it says it has been successfully backed up), but there's no option to restore any backups on my new phone.
I searched on Google and it says when you're entering your details there's an option to restore backup, but I didn't see one and still don't see an option to restore a backup.

Keyboard disappear while typing
While typing the keyboard disappears back to the bottom. The problem is with both swiftkey and samsung keyboard. I use boat browser, but the problem is the same while using original email app too so the browser should not be the problem.
Ive tried cleaning all chache without luck. Read about others with same problem and factory reset did not help. I got a samsung s7 edge with android 7.

Hi,
I'm looking for a Note 8 and CPW have them in stock but I have heard there's a Dual Sim version. I;d much prefer this then having to carry 2 phones.
Are they available in the UK?
If they are EU imports what happens in it goes faulty?
Is it still possible to use both SIMs and a Micro SD card? I'd want all 3 in use ideally.

How do i get 4G lte working with the fingerprint sensor on my XZ Premium?
I purchased the US model for the warranty and just flashed the UK firmware from XperiFirm so now I have the fingerprint sensor. My issue is now I can only get 4g / H+ to show and I'm getting speeds of about 5 Mbps. I switched from my HTC M8 and it was getting lte all the time with 60+ Mbps. I'm assuming it's due to the uk firmware so does anyone know how to get both to work? Thanks.

Huawei P10 Hotmail issue
I'm migrating from Windows 10 Mobile to Android and have hit a big problem.
I have 4 email accounts I use, 3 Hotmail, one Fast mail.
In setting up this P10 and using the stock email app and calendar, it will only accept 2 of my Hotmail accounts, but one it won't and that's my main one. It throws up an error saying, in part "email address or password wrong. Imap/Smtp settings wrong or disabled".
As expected, I've tried to troubleshoot the issues with various other setups tried etc...
I spoken with MS Hotmail about it who said everything is fine their end. It must be a phone issue. I've spoken to Huawei and sent the phone back to them and it was still the same when it returned. Eventually, I got an exchange for a new unit from my POS and that device has the same problem.
I know I can use the "Outlook" app for MS services, but this is a workaround that I'm not happy with. I don't use "Exchange", and don't really want to. My other Hotmail accounts sync and work fine. Only one Hotmail and the Fastmail don't.
Can anyone help me out with this as this phone will soon be heading for a life in the drawer!

Can someone tell me if I have bricked my Samsung s5?
I know this may be dumb and probably answered like 500 times for noobs like me, but I can't find it on the internet and now I'm pretty scared since I feel like I'm straying from the help people can give about bootloops. I've been trying to fix my bootlooped phone for about a week, I've tried factory reset, data wipe and mount /System, I've reflashed a stock firmware, and have been through 3 batteries, none of these things worked. Ok, I didn't know what do you so I reflashed about 2 other roms until my phone said needed to reflash. I found a compilation of SM - G900T stock firmwares (my model) and flashed that using Odin. Everything was fine until it got to the T-Mobile splash. It turned off and now it won't turn on even if I replace battery, place in fridge to cool down, or hold down power button for 7-10 sec. Anyone know if I bricked my phone?

Why does my clock keep setting itself back an hour?
Every time I enter my apartment (for two days now) my clock sets itself back one hour. I can't tell if it's due to connecting to WiFi or to my network extender. Restarting the phone fixes the clock but why is this happening in the first place?

Can somebody in Berlin get the holidady photos out of my Nexus?
Hey there,
one week ago we got back from our snorkeling and diving trip from Dahab, Sinai, Egypt (Red Sea). Unfortunately my friends depended on my photography skills and I ..at some point, dropped my phone into the sea.
Now, there are like 120 - 140 photos (or vids) that are only that phone, but not backed up on the Google Photo Sync.
As I work as an IT Expert, we already asked a local store to check the phone. They cross checked the parts of the phone. But they said nothings bootin' up.
There's a small chance that the actual memory of this device still be readable. So why not trying?
Is there anyone in Berlin able to get our pictures of the lagoon?

Galaxy Tab 3 keeps asking for google acct after I did factory reset. I can't get past it!

Any ideas on how to fix this "power down menu" glitch??
I just bought a (refurbished) Galaxy S7 Active, and it's got a weird problem where the "Power off / Restart / Emergency Mode" screen keeps popping up at random, frequent intervals, as if I'm holding down the lock button. This has probably popped up here some time but I'm switching over from iOS and have been struggling to get Dropbox to be an option when attaching files to email and to WhatsApp right from the email and WhatsApp apps.
The way it is right now it'll only give Google Drive options, when it does, and gallery for email. I own an Galaxy S8 Plus, which I'm loving but I just can't seem to get that to work.

Recommendations for a Watch
After the recent Apple phone announcements didn't say that they've come to their senses and put the headphone jack back in, I've decided that it's time to give Android another shot. I know it seems like such a small thing, but I actually USE my headphone jack and can't be bothered to carry around an adapter.
My iPhone 6 is getting a bit old, so it's time for something else. I've decided to get the Note 8.
However, I recently purchased an Apple Watch Series 2. Obviously this isn't going to work with the Android phone. I'd like to get something that's pretty close to the same as that watch.
Features I want: Android Pay, ability to respond to text messages (preferably quick responses), water proof, wifi (it's nice that I can still get a message when my phone isn't nearby.
Features I don't want: LTE (while connectivity is nice, I don't want to pay for another device... and I don't want to pay for hardware I'm not using (cash, space or battery life)).
Basically I want what I currently have... nothing more, nothing less. But it needs to work with Android.

Has anyone had any issues connecting a Samsung Gear S3 Frontier to the Pixel 2 or 2 XL? How do I stop notifications from sorting?
I often get many notifications and I like to dismiss (slide to the right) them after seeing/dealing with them. Sometimes while I'm viewing notifications and dismissing them the notifications will resort and I end up dismissing the wrong one. I have a Galaxy S8+ but this behavior existed on my Nexus 6 also, so it seems to me this is default behavior for Android. Without modifying Android with code, is there a way to stop it from sorting the notifications (at the very least to get it to stop sorting while I'm interacting with them)?

Samsung S7 making noises after I dropped it in water
Hi, I've only had my Samsung S7 since April this year and tonight the phone slipped from my jean pocket into the toilet. I was terrified and dried it before checking to see if everything was ok (display, sound etc) and apart from the sound sounding a little weird everything seemed functional. 15 minutes after and I'm starting to hear clicking noises coming from the S7 (like from something inside the machine, I'm 99.9% certain it wasn't an app) and I'm really scared because my mum will kill me if she finds out I somehow damaged my phone. It was a birthday present. I've tried to dry the phone as best I can, and of course the phone is off now that I've heard the noises, but I don't know what else to do, and I'm scared of turning it back on in case something else happens (I get paranoid easily and I'm genuinely scared the phone will explode if I turn it back on.)
Please help, as I don't know what else to do and for a phone that's supposedly water resistant I'm going to be really pissed off if my phone got damaged permanently from being submerged in water for 5 seconds.

why does my samsung note 8 starts playing music by itself?
My phone has done this twice already. Both times it happened around 2:30 am and with very low volume. First time I was very tired and i just turned the phone off.
2nd time, i took my time, and went through all apps to see which one was on that could be playing the music. I didn't find any apps running. Again, I had to restart the phone to stop the music from playing.

how do i turn off auto-tap setting on my s7 edge
i accidentally put my phone in an accessibility mode "auto-tap" i believe it's called. now i can not get in to my phone it just keeps bringing up an auto tap menu and has a mind of its own. it will open the menu shut it then go to the turn off or restart screen. all while i cant choose anything by tapping the screen with one nor 2 fingers. i would like to avoid factory reset due to my lack of backing up all my important files. please helppppppp i cant even access my files on a computer because i cant hit the allow button on my phone screen.

SD card suddenly not read by my phone
I got a 32 GB SD card for my Samsung galaxy J7 a few weeks ago. It was working fine but suddenly I don't see my stuff on the phone. I have saved music and pics all on the card because the phone doesn't have a lot of storage. It keep asking me to mount my SD card which is already in. I tried removing the card, my SIM card and the battery but it still not showing the card. I tried to load an old SD card and it read the card. Unfortunately, this card had my previous data which I have erased after transferring them into the new card which is not working now. Please kindly help me out. Thanks so much!

Recover SD Card Information form an "internal" SD card
When I installed a micro SD card in my Droid Turbo 2, running 7.0, it asked if I wanted to treat the card as "internal memory", meaning it wouldn't be able to be read outside the device. I chose this option.
The phone died and ultimately I had to do a factory reset. I did this reset AFTER removing the SD card. Is all my information on that card lost? Is there anyway to get it back either IN the phone or otherwise.

Phone dying VERY fast and shutting off with over 30% left. Why?
Why is my Battery dying VERY fast & phone shutting off while over 30% left. My honor huawai 8 has blurred buttons at the bottom, why?
At the bottom of the screen on the black bar where you have the triangle, circle & square its blurred and doubled, but is only on the home screen. Is there a reason for this? managing music on new samsung a5
I synched my samsung with itunes and all my music was downloaded onto my new phone via smart switch. Which I didn't really want it to do. I must have clicked a box I didn't mean to. Sigh.

Gallery pics no longer there in Messaging App
Hi, all.
I have been using my Note 8 for awhile now and use the stock "Messages" app as my default one.
All of a sudden, when I attempt to attach a pic to a message, my 317 pics in my Gallery are no longer there to send. It simply offers me only one pic (apparently, one that I downloaded onto the device) when I select Gallery>Albums>Pictures within the Messages.
I assume something happened either between Samsung Cloud or what-not as I do back up all of my pics there too, but what the heck happened??

Samsung galaxy 6s keeps crashing
My Samsung Galaxy 6S keeps crashing. As it begins to reboot, the process just keeps starting over and over, never getting past the "Samsung Screen". I have tried safe mode and recovery mode. I've also did a factory reset yesterday. The problem happened again. This time, I cannot even get my phone into recovery mode to clear the cache partition (which is what snapped my phone out of it the last time so I could do my factory reset).
At this point, my phone goes from samsung screen to android logo saying "installing updates" and then back to samsung. It keeps looping this over and over without actually giving me a menu or rebooting my phone. HELLPPP!

Galaxy Tab S2 - No USB option on Tablet
Hey all,
I've recently come across a problem I can't find the answer for. I have a Galaxy Tab S2 on Android 7.0 and I've got a problem with the USB.
When I plug it in it doesn't give me the notification anymore to use MTP or do anything but charge it. I've tried the following:
- Change usb cable. Tried about 10 of them
- Developer settings - it doesn't change from MTP when I select other USB options
- Factory Reset didn't fix it
- Tried different apps etc to see if that would wake it up
- Going into PC Device Manager. Nothing appears
So basically I plug in the USB, it says charging but no option anymore for USB transfer. Even after trying the above.

This is probably sacrilege, but anyone out there who uses both iOS and Android?
I recently switched from iOS to Android for my main device and am an instant convert.
That said, I will continue to carry a second device, even if for the sole purpose as it is linked to my personal phone number that I had for many years and I don't want to mix my work and personal phone numbers.
Thanks to the dual application function for WhatsApp on the Note 8 however, the latter will remain my primary and go-to device.
Due to the size, robustness and familiarity, I am inclined to buy an iPhone SE as a secondary device and would love to hear some feedback on this.
Alternatively, are there any good small-sized Android phones that could fulfill this function? I did a bit of desktop research but it seems that the phones are either large or exceedingly basic with nothing out there that is really comparable to the SE.

Pixel 2 XL Notification Dots Go Away
I have an unlocked Pixel 2 XL purchased directly from Google's store.
Notification dots are turned on and seem to work as advertised. However, when I swipe away a notification, the notification dot disappears. For example, let's say I get a Facebook notification that someone commented on my post. The notification dot appears like it should. Then, I swipe the notification away in the panel, and the notification dot goes away.
That doesn't seem like how it should work. I didn't mark the Facebook past "read" as you can do with a text message; I merely got rid of the notification in the panel.
In previous Android versions with the counter on the app, swiping away the notification, still left the unread badge until you went to the app.
Note, that my Facebook example was only that; I don't mean to imply this is only an issue with Facebook notifications. The same happens with a Whatsapp notification or a text message (and likely for other apps).
So, my question is, is this a bug, is this how it is supposed to work, or am I missing some setting somewhere that controls this.

HTC phone locked after too many pattern unlock attempts and googlemail not worked- pls help me!
I gave my mum my HTC phone a couple of years ago. She thought the phone was inadvertently calling people so I put a pattern lock on it. She promptly forgot this and made ten attempts to unlock the phone! I have to enter my gmail and password but that is not working.
I also have as a last resort tried to do a factory reset but even that is not working.

Notification Badges for Galaxy S7
This question has been asked before but so far I've not seen the solution I need for my S7.
I'm specifically looking for a way to enable notification badges without using a launcher. The notification badges have to work for apps on the homescreen and the app favorites bar (so notification apps that use widgets won't do). Some apps I need badges for include: Phone, Messages, Gmail, Voxer.
I'm actually baffled that this is not a native feature of the phone. Any solutions?

Google Messenger--User Specific Ringtones
I have a Pixel and Android 8.0. I have a sound for incoming messages set in the app settings. Then, in the Contacts settings I set ringtones for two individual users but they aren't working. Their text messages just get the normal Messeges App ringtone.

Dealing with limited space - questions from a Luddite
Apologies for the daft questions but here we go:
I purchased a Nokia 5 and a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB Memory Card.
My first numpty question - can the memory card be used for photos and apps? I'm assuming not because when I formatted for photos, I can't move apps to the Micro SD as there's no options under Storage on the app. However when I changed the format of the disc for apps, when I tried to take a photo, I got an error message saying "insert SD card."
I can then only guess the ideal workaround then would be to change the photo settings so they save on the phone, and store the photos in the cloud but again I can't seem to be able to change the default phone settings.
Insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Nexus 5x 'System' takes up 6GB

ZTE quest micro SD is not reading.
I am aware of the way to insert an SD card. However, I took the SD card from my LG Leon then inserted it in my new ZTE quest assurance fone. For some reason the SD card is not even reading. Like it's in there but it's not letting me save apps to it. I have read from several ppl to take it out and put it back in till it reads. Did that like 3-4 times and still the same outcome. My zte is saying low memory...
for example, I was on FB and just out of no where it closed the app and went to my home screen. Does that with pretty much any app I go into. Do t know if the system update has anything to do with it..but, it's all up to date. Up for anything..ideas, helpful tips...ect.

Limited speed in 4G
I'm having some weird behavior with my Priv (Marshmallow 6.0.1). The download speed when I'm connected to 4g is around 3 Mbps, if I set the network to only connect to 3g I get around 8 Mbps.
I thought it was a problem with my carrier, then I switched my SIM to my BB Passport, and I get 30 Mbps on 4g.
Any ideas about what it could be?
The Passport is SQW100-4 and the Priv is SQV100-3, so both supports the same frequencies.
I contacted the carrier and they said it was all ok on their end.
Also, if a put my SIM in the Passport, and connect the Priv to my Passport's wi-fi router I get 38 Mbps down and 12 Mbps up.

Xperia mobile's volume is lower than usual
This just happened days after starting to use the phone, in first instance it was loud and great but now it has lowered (speakers, earphones and bluetooth audio devices).
I even used to get the high volume warning but now I don't.
Does somebody know what could be causing this situation?

Why is my kindle on my galaxy note8 dark. No problems anywhere on my phone.
All books are dark on my kindle. This is a new phone. Did not have this issue on my other galaxy.

updated o/s and sd card disappeared
i have a galaxy j2 prime and 2 days ago, i updated my software. after restart, sd card was gone. bought a new sd card. that one isnt detected either. seems to be a problem with the new software and i have no idea how to get my phone to re-recognize sd cards.

Unable to change font style in samsung galaxy j7 prime
I'm unable to change font style in my sansung galaxy j7 prime mobile. Only limited fonts are applied and if I'm trying to apply other fonts 'this font is not supported. Contact the font provider or uninstall the font' is given.

LG IMS isn't working on LG K7. Why is this happening?
So i was playing on my phone then all of a sudden a msg says "Unfortunately, LG IMS has stopped working". I tried to get rid of the msg but it keeps popping up over and over again. It got so bad that it keeps popping up like every 2 seconds and i can barley do anything on my phone. I did a hard reset and that still didn't fix the problem. Every now and then the msg will stop for like 10 minutes but continue for the rest of the day. I keep doing soft resets but that isn't helping. I tried the 277634#*# IMS settings thing but it wont let me stay on the page. I haven't downloaded any apps to cause this problem either. Any suggestions?

"This app relies on Google Play Services, which aren't supported by your device" error fix?
When I open a game on my Kindle Fire HDX 7, that messages pops up, but most of the time I can get passed it and play the game. However, some of the content that requires to be connected to a google account to be accessed or cloud saves are just blocked by that message. When I try to open a Google app like Google Play Music or Hangouts, it just doesn't work, the message just keeps popping up over and over again and the screen is blank. I've tried downloading the play services and framework, the play store too, that's not the issue. The issue is being able to use those apps. I don't mind rooting, but that's something I've never really done before. What should I do to be able to get my kindle to do what I need it to do?

Navigation volume
I plugged my phone into the car infocenter. I want to listen to the radio on the infocenter - not too loud PLUS I want google maps to give me navigation instructions louder than the radio. It is so soft I can barely hear it.

Camera failed on galaxy s7 active.
As of today my camera will not activate. It says camera failed. I have read multiple articles and it seems this has happened to many other people. I have performed all fixes that I've read except a full restore. I'm hoping there's something else I can do before that.
Any help will be appreciated.
Here's the tests I've done so far.
I've of course cleared the camera apps cache and went into system storage and cleared it also. I've also performed the fix of powering off the phone and held the volume up, home and power buttons and clearing that cache(can't remember the term that's used). I've also started the phone in safe mode as someone recommended and still no luck.
Any help will be appreciated.

I cant access or highlight "unknown sources"
Can't seem to highlight or use unknown sources on my settings s7 edge to use third party apps and it's affecting using Wi-Fi and I can't use Google chrome cast as it comes up with a security message about third party policy. Is it malware or a virus I recently watch sports on vipleague using Google chrome any feedback would be appreciated cheers

Issues with TCP Client/Server
Hey guys,
I wrote this basic TCP Client in Android with a C++ Server running in Linux.
Now the thing is this worked through Ethernet with a Rooted Samsung Note 2, however, with a brand spanking new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, it no longer works. Everything works great on the Rooted Note 2. But when I try to open up the connection to the server on the Note 8 the app crashes.
Granted the Note 8 phone is not rooted, however, I didn't think it would be necessary since it supports Ethernet natively.
Basically my question is, does any of you guys have any experience with sockets and TCP communications on the Note 8 through an Ethernet connection, or have any idea of what might be causing the app to crash when I try to connect on the Note 8?
The server still establishes the connection in C++, but each time it does the app crashes on Android.
